The youngest I've heard about (female wise, we don't really know when it comes to males) is 10 weeks. Farmers will breed them between 7-8 months and most of us hobby and/or show breeders will start at 10-12 months. So she's been about 5½-6 months. That's quite early. But she looks fine and I only noticed because I held her. She looks normal in size for her age. 2 in the litter, so that's a normal size litter. So this far everything looks to be okay with everyone. I kinda hoped she was infertile (others have commented on her might being infertile as well due to how she is), but that wasn't the case.

My little inbreeding litter Dad is now out of the cage, and I'm not entirely sure what to do about him. Tbh I've been thinking about stopping breeding again. I just might end up getting him neutered. I'm starting to accumulate waaaaay to many chinchillas, and I haven't really got the space to keep them, unless I make a male and female colony, but there's just a lot of riscs involved in colony setups. If they bond, and something goes wrong with as little as one animal, it can screw up the entire colony... Not going to place them some other place in the house as we really enjoy having them in the house where we can watch them every day. Oh, and kind of embarrassing. I can't remember the name of the beige girl who just gave birth - lol. It's eigher Nightfall or Moonshade. And I just can't remember what I called the girl who got a new home.
