Yep! Its been a whole year since I bought 3 nervous fluffy bundles all the way from York to the North East. I think they've settled in quite well and are now fluffy bundles of loveable trouble, and I wouldn't have it any other way (but don't tell them that, lol!)

Well it looks like Ruby the Foody has been put in her place. I heard an altercation while they were eating last night, and this morning Ruby has a small cut on her ear. It looks clean, and its not bothering her, but obviously I'll keep an eye on her.
It looks like one of them has had enough of her hogging the grub and told her off.

Well I've found out what caused the altercation the other day. Ruby has cataracts so has limited vision, she's also a big girl who loves her food and she's been using both to her advantage. When they are eating she simple barges through the others like a determined shopper on sale day! Head down, elbows ready and if you don't move I'll simply go through you, lol!

Sphene is back on metacam from tonight. I asked Wendy if I could put her back on it as she was having problems with eating again. Weight holding, just slow eating and a lot of pawing at her mouth. She agreed so battle will recommence tonight to get the meds into her. I'm hoping she'll get used to it and I can stop the catch and contain which is the stressful part.
Although she'll happily step into the catch-a-goo-tube as long as there's sunflower seeds in there, lol.

That's half the battle won! Took me three hours to catch Spud yesterday!

Weekly weigh in for the Yorkshire Lasses; Little Amber not so little at 240g, Ruby the Foody a hefty 302g and Sphene at 193g so she's gained 3g since being back on the metacam and she's eating well.
With the metacam we have reached an understanding, there is a enduring protest from Sphene, but she quite likes the taste (but if she could have more sunflower seeds on the scales, she'd put her tail on there as well without any coaxing from me.)

Try holding the seeds up, so they have to stand on their hind legs to get them - never fails to get the tail where it belongs

Need some advice!
Sphene has been on metacam for a few weeks now, but when I refilled her prescription at the vets, they had to send loxicom. Tried her with it tonight and she basically spat it back at me, there's no way she's having it, and I don't want to force her as I know it'll end up just going everywhere but in her mouth. I've spoken to the vets who now have metacam back in stock and I can pick some up tomorrow.
My question is this, will she be ok missing the dose tonight. I can get it from Wendy tomorrow morning so she can be medicated at about lunch time tomorrow.

I think I'd be tempted to skip it if it will just be until tomorrow lunch time, she should still have a bit in her system anyway. Worse case scenario is if she starts to look a bit uncomfortable in the morning then you might need to force a dose in before your trip to the vets.
What was the upshot of the metacam trial for the growth? I presume it helped?

When we stopped it for a week there was a difference. She was eating slower, pawing her mouth more etc. On the metacam she's almost normal, she's not shunning hard food, although she occasionally scratches at the inside of her mouth with her back paw. Her weight is steadily increasing too, and she now weighs in at 202g.
She hasn't been back to see Wendy as she has to be put under because she gets very stressed, but I've taken videos of her eating etc for Wendy to review. I think I managed to get a third of a dose into her, but she struggled so much it very nearly went in her eye!
The metacam is ready to be picked up, but unless I pay almost £50 for a taxi, I'm looking at a 3 hour round trip so the earliest I can get it home is lunchtime.
