Well. Now Q is losing weight. He lost about 8g after the vet visit which I expected. But since then he's lost about 1-2g a day. I know I probably shouldn't be weighing so frequently, but I'm trying to be extra careful with Tom at the moment. Hoping its just due to the change in their cage (restricted to first floor only, no wheel) and not something more sinister. He's been just as active as ever during play time, so thats good.
Thinking about it more, he's been very active at scratching the cage door/bars. So hoping it's just the unhappiness from less space. Which should be ending here soon.

You may be a little paranoid - 1-2g is more like a territory marking trickle

Yeah, definitely hoping its that!
I think its just the consistent drop resulting in 6g lost thats making me nervous. I would just like a little bit of time where all the goos are healthy thank you, haha!

Hpdegus, I just want to ask so I'm sure I'm understanding what you are saying. Are you saying that he has lost a total of 14g since seeing the vet? When was it that he saw the vet?

Yep, 14g total since the vet visit last Friday (when Tom was in for surgery). He wasn't examined, but he was in the vet clinic for several hours while waiting for his brother.
And sorry for the confusion!
Day before vet visit: 234g Two days after vet visit: 226g Last night (6 days after visit): 220g

HMMM! I wonder if it is a bit of a stress reaction? Seems odd.

Stress seems most likely, although it could be a coincidence, did he seem stressed by the vet trip?

Yep, he was definitely stressed. I think he's still a bit stressed since he doesn't have his wheel. But he gained a little bit back yesterday which is good. Think it might have been me just watching too closely!

Q is determined to eat all the treats! I was giving Tom some sunflower seed and Q decided that sitting in my hand would prevent Tom from eating all the seeds! photos.app.goo.gl/p9QzrMKH4BakKMwj8On another note, Tom seems to be feeling like himself. He climbed from my lap go the couch several times yesterday

Q was holding steady for a while there and late last week was actually gaining. My parents are here visiting though and we were away for two nights. The last two days he's lost a little bit of weight (just a few grams, but the trend is not what I want). Hoping its just the stress, not anything more sinister. Hes running on the wheel happily and eating sunflower seeds without problems. My family leaves tomorrow morning, so we'll see how gets on.

Its been really nice, DC! It had been 2.5 years since I'd seen my dad in person, much longer than I would have wanted.
It was actually really funny/cute watching them interact with the goos, especially my dad. He'd never spent more than 30 min with them before this. I have video of him absolutely spoiling the Mauraders since every time he walked by they would clamber and climb the cage in search of treats! Glad he likes his 'grandgoos' hahaha

Was looking back through my notes to see how off trend Q's weight is. Saw Ollie's name. It's been almost 7 months. I miss him.

On a less emotional note, I think I'm going to stop leaving CC mixture in the cage for Tom. I've caught Q eating it and now I'm wondering if maybe the sugars in there are causing issues? He seems to be eating sunflower seeds and pellets just fine, so I don't think that teeth are the issue (but who knows).

I'm sorry for the grief sucker punch.
If it's quite a small quantity of CC then it should be OK, but I suppose if he's eating it every day and his weight is sensitive, and he's more sensitive to sugars than most then it's certainly worth eliminating it to see if it makes a difference.
