An example. What did everyone else use because I’ve already spent £440 on the vivs, not including £40 for lights, £40 for vents so far (will need more), £20 on tools and so on lol 🙈 Thanks for any help guys!

Huh, b&q mustt have stopped selling their big sheets (it's under furniture board rather than melamine)! Do wickes not do it too?

Would it be less expensive to use regular boards, and put your own stick-down floor tiles on them to waterproof it? That's what we did, and they have held up beautifully. Some kinds of the tiles even have overlapping borders to waterproof the seam lines.

Would they let you arrange your own collection and/or delivery? If they are local enough it may be cheaper to hire a van and collect yourself.
Do you have a timber yard anywhere near you?

are you looking at ceramic tiles, or vinyl-type tiles? We used vinyl stick-ons. Cost about 79 cents each, here. Our local Home Depot (building and home supply) stores have small delivery trucks that you can rent for about $25 for a couple hours. Maybe you could rent something big enough to haul the boards home for you, and it would come out less than shipping cost. Or, like said above, they might deliver for free for you, especially if you are flexible on the day/time, maybe they can slip your boards on another delivery and drop it off on the way.

the idea of using an old piece of furniture as boards is a great idea. Might be able to find something really cheap, or free.

Vinyl stick ons, the most ugly unwanted pattern too lol

Why don't you cover regular wooden boards with the correx type stuff I've been using? It's around £3.79 for about 6 metres of the stuff and it's black so doesn't look horrible. It's wipe clean and easy to replace, I have had very minimal chewing so far, just when they were testing it out when it was new. We attached it to the woods with velcro strips.

I got some vinyl sheeting stuff when I did my cage. Was really good value and comes in so many colours. Think it was from eBay
