please please please don't say the s-word. I'll have to delete my account! * shudders*Shouldn't have such a stupid, sexy hand 'Em LOL! Looks like he's settled in super quick. My boys did too. Bet he's going to be like my guys, super soppy & mellow. But humpy. Is humping normal do we know? I've never come across it, but never looked for it either. Is it social or sexual behaviour I wonder? Maybe both? Interesting, but I'm glad that ain't my hand darthchinchi - is this normal or is emily ! at fault for having a super sexy hand?

Def sexy hands... lol I read an article once. Apparently some peoples sweat (mainly from the feet) is similar in smell to some animals going into heat. My first chin, a male, loved feet. He would sit on them and be very content. He loved my shoes with a more potent smell. So I'm guessing em had sexy swetty hands 😂 Male chinchillas do have a tendency to relieve themselves. Such a nice sight while having guests. Especially when they use their mounts and look all funny when they finish and get a tast A plush toy or some rolled up socks can help them get the steam out. A study in male squirrels who help them selves a lot, actually showed it help them to stay healthy down there. It's not far fetches to think chinchillas have the same benifits. blogs.discovermagazine.com/notrocketscience/2010/09/28/squirrels-masturbate-to-avoid-sexually-transmitted-infections/#.WXizrb1JHqA

So it's a sexual thing, not a dominance/social thing? haha alfie has a hand fetish degus do that too Darth, dirty filthy beasts lol I giggle at the thought of someone's grandma looking at the cute degu or chin & it starts doing it. Or a little boy in the park with his mummy, watching a squirrel in a tree "Mummy, what's that squirrel doing?" "Maintaining his health!" *drags kid away* lololol I feel this is an argument for having girls if you can

The word Slug? ? Yeah considering I've spent literally in total since he arrived probably 15 minutes with him (due to having the dogs) I'm really impressed!!! Lmao!! My poor sexy hands 😩 I'll get him a teddy lol 🙈 poor teddy will be mentally scarred, unless he prefers me to the teddy still LOL I've never ever seen my male degus do the deed!! As in, the solo deed lol!! My one male Pumba doesn't even get to the the real double duo deed, instead Pickle does it to him 😩🙈. I cried at "maintaining his health" LOL I'm sure all men would use that excuse if you told them!!

I've seen a lot of funny stories with the postman looking into a cage with only males or guests looking at the animals a the dinner table. As people say, there's really nothing to do about it. It's just really awkward haha. I did have one who would grind his teeth every time, like he was injoying it. We would sometimes look into the cage and wonder what he was doing. All black male and the only thing we could see in the dim light was a little pink think lol. Looked away as quickly as we found out what he was doing.
It can be a dominans things. I do not believe they try and dominante humans though. Never heard of it anyway. I just think he thinks she smells nice.

The word Slug? ? YOU DID IT AGAIN!!!!!!Yup, I have a full blown phobia. Even the word starts me retching & sweating. This is why I don't grow our herb garden outdoors, can't bear the thought of them even looking at something i might eat. I appreciate their necessity as part of the food chain, but aside from that, I believe firmly they are my own personal harbingers of hell. I've moved house the next day after finding one inside more than once! Please don't make my brain connect Alfie & those things, I'll never be able to look at his pics again Lol I am triggered! But the retching is real my friend

haha it's fine, I don't expect people to know, or care. I'm gonna cry & whinge though, free speech & all that If/when I am Prime Minister I'll ban them things straight after I sort Pets@Home out. Then I'll make the Cheeky Girls sing a new national anthem & we're good to go. The other disgusting stuff is fine by me though

If they have shells I'm ok with it. I did read that not all snails have shells & some of those 'things' do - so some are impostors!!!!! That seems sneaky to me... No shell = vomity panic attack in my brain it seems. I am moving to Denmark folks, seems they don't have any of those things! I may be wrong, but I think Moomins live there too - seems like a win Just for science - if any one wants to be traumatised / learn something / throw up, do a little research of how those things mate. Watch a video. I tried to desensitise myself to them by learning more about them - saw this, made me 10000% worse

I've seen those things mate a lot of times. Find it fascinating action. We have some we call leopard snails/basement snails/well snails. They eat the invasive species we have issues with (don't move here random, not this year, my dad is killing several hundred of these invasive "snails" each day). We do not have moomins lol. They are Finnish (or finished as we like to call things from Finland - are you Finish? No I'm Danish. One of the worst jokes ever told at my parents 😂) I feel for you with the snails... I have a thing with large predatory fish. Not sharks, bone fish. Sometimes I can't even look at pictures of them. My parents own part of a lake that's located in the back yard. I looked up some info on native fish. Turns out pikes grow to 1,5 meters. I'm never going swimming down there again lol. Said to my dad "I know they do not reach this size in your lake" (about 500m long and 50-100m wide) Guess what he said to me? "oh yes, they do reach this size here" lol. Could have killed him (or just fed him to the massive pike if I saw it )

ooops, sorry! Finnish, not Danish. I shall try to remember that in future. It seems parent jokes are the same the world over, my dad would say the same if he could (If you say I'm hungry, he says hi I'm dad. He has been doing that for 40+ years *sigh*) Now I do it because i am an old parent too OOh pikes are scary aren't they? I remember reading a illustrated guide to British Fishes when I was a little kid & the pike had a super scary face. I was terrified of that book. Much better we just look at lovely cute pictures of degus & chinchillas to soothe our shattered minds eh?

Lol! I must have not closed Alfie's cage properly on the bottom level a few hours ago, because we were just sat watching Dexter and I was falling asleep and cal squeaked "there's a chinchilla in here" and I said "yeah yeah funny" and he said "no seriously" and there was Alfie just having a wander around lol 😂 I scooped him up in my blanket by placing it over him (looked so funny, shouldn't laugh but just had this little ball hopping about under a blanket) after failed attempts of a little bit of persuasion lol, he was trembling being picked up poor soul lol, fussed him (on his head randomname and he didn't complain) and he was okay stopped shaking and carried on being a nosey boy lol, gave him some fuss to calm him and popped him back in. Well that's his playtime done for tonight lol! Tiniest fur slip happened, literally a pinch. It was lovely being able to stroke him, like a cloud 🙈 Too nosey for his own good. I legitimately don't remember leaving it open.. maybe he's figured out how to open it lol 😂

lol Houdini My guys can open the bottom door if I don't lock it, they know when the handle isn't turned down properly. Chins are clever little gits. Bet you shut it, but didn't lock it properly. Also bet you don't do it again glad he's ok

One of mine systematically tried to get out of her cages... She ended up in a cage she knew how to get out of, but cagemate needed to help her for it to work, and she never got it.
