ooooh he's a bonny lad alright. Love his colouring His ears look like Fuzzy Felt (you're too young to remember that I suppose ) I'm sure he'll settle in super fast & the degus will settle down quickly. Has he let you stroke him? Sooo soft, like stroking a cloud

Nope can't stroke him yet lol. I nearly blinded him already with my nail whoops lol. So currently filing my nails into a new shape lol.
He's cute!!! I remember fuzzy felt lol I bloody loved that stuff 😂 they do!! I will have to touch them and tell you if they are fuzzy felt and he has smaller ears hidden inside 🤔

I used to love fuzzy felt too! I'm usually pretty good at resisting wanting more pets and not allowing myself to even really think about, but chinchillas are really testing my resolve at the moment. I want to stroke a cloud *stamps foot*.

You need to stroke a cloud! *shakes fists in the air* They move about a bit like a rabbit crossed with a degu. That's it now. No more animals for me 😂 other than now being a fosterer for abandoned axolotls, no more animals lol. You'd love a chin moletteuk 😍

Have you seen any online videos of them running circuits round the room? Doing parkour off the walls, jumping on top of the fridge from a still start? They are awesome. Sir Ian McKellen tends to pad around like a rabbit going under stuff, investigating, but Sir Patrick Stewart likes a mad half hour bouncing off everything. Including my legs, karate kick style. He usually ends up on top of something next to me & stares into my eyes for a while. I have no idea what he's doing at that point.

You mean the foot stamping? That's just me doing my best impression lol I've actually decided not to get any more pets for a while after the degus are gone. My parents are getting too old to degu sit, and we haven't had a holiday for years now becuase we can't leave the goos. We've only left them unsupervised for even just one night once, and Ian was frantic with worry the whole time. It's such a stupid thing but it's getting a bit wearing not being able to go anywhere further than we can get in one day. I'll miss them so much I'll probably only last a couple of months without pets, what on earth would I do with myself, who would I talk to? As much as I would love chins, I think I would have a problem with the nocturnalness, unless they are out a lot in the evening, I'm not a night person at all.

They aren't nocturnal. I can't remember the term but they're most active at dusk and dawn

Oh, that could be doable then, my degus are pretty crepuscular, always most active in the evenings.
Stop it!!! (that is me talking to me!)

How cute! I too thought chinchillas were nocturnal and was wondering how it would be for him being surrounded by noisy degus all day whilst he is sleeping and then same for the degus at night, I suppose they will all be active at the same time though which will be nice for them!

You've made a Chinpillow--a cloth sack stuffed with fluff.
