Nighty Alfie!
Aren't they funny the way they hop about casually lol just like a bunny!
I never lock any of their cages properly I just use the little flicky thing at the top of the doors lol. Been locking Alfie's properly now 😂
And oh nooo Darth she was betrayed by her cage mate lol

Sometimes it's a relief to have a slightly dim witted pet amongst the clever ones! Good job Alfie was smart enough not to chew anything dangerous Is he OK today, not scared after being picked up? The fur slip thing is scary.

Handsome fella (Alfie, not Cal lololololololol) He looks so settled, like he's been with you forever wish Misty was that far along, she's going to need so much patience & I just want to stroke her! How's Alfie doing with going back into the cage now?

😂 isn't he cute Emziedee? deguconvert LOL no they still definitely do 😂 he's good and kitty is okay, banished outside until I get her fleas under control. randomname LOL poor Cal 😂 yeah he's settled as long as you aren't trying to pick him up to put him away 😑 he's doing erm, very badly with going back into the cage lol. I had to wait for about half an hour after I'd decided playtime was done, for him to hop into the sandbath, put my hand over the opening, pick it up, but as I picked it up he squeezed out and then was trying to leap from my arms, so I had to sort of forcibly hold him which he didn't like and wriggled but didn't make any sounds, but calmed down once I'd stood up and he'd realised it was too far to jump and then sort of sat *minor uncomfortably* in my arms and I stroked him for a minute to calm him and then put him back in his cage.

He's so lovely He's a real heartbreaker with his big, dark, sad looking eyes! Is he an attention seeker or technophobe? *sits on laptop, immobilises phone arm, eyeing up destruction of gamepad*

If you read that entire part af is you are interacting with a human rather than a chinchilla it becomes quite funny. Holding him down, stopping his playtime 😂 it's like a bizarre intro to 50 shades 😂 Sorry for the it. He sounds like a real chinchilla and like he's doing just fine with settling ind. Sounds chinchilla like with not wanting to being handled ^^

If you want a holding picture with you in it, try letting him sit on your shoulder. Just hold onto the base of his tale. Most seem to allow this no matter how little or much they enjoy handling.

I've seen photos of people grooming chins holding them upside down by the base of their tails 😫😳 is this right?? It doesn't look it 😞

Yes, it is done. If they are held correctly it is not an issue to do this. Most just hang out when held by he tail.
