So I thought I'd make a thread to sort of talk about Alfie and Emily! (Misty lol) all together I did a Zooplus order and it's coming Tuesday. I'm currently trying to make non-pill fleece sleeves for the Aventura trays as everyone seems to use fleece so I'm gonna try it. DO YOU KNOW SOMETHING?! I can't cut, I can't sew. Not even basic child sewing. That's taken me well over an hour 😂😂 Livid. To get someone to make them it was £15 per big tray, £8 per little tray. But I'd need one to wash one to wear. So would cost me a fortune. Thought I'd have a go myself. So much regret lol. Giving up for tonight tired and I've gotta get ready for Snowdon lol, being picked up at 6:30am 😑 If anyone is less thick than me and knows a faster, better way to hand sew please heeeelp lol. Here's pictures of Alfie! He's coming Thursday mid day I'm also in a mega crisis as my bank has fudged me over and my bank has been incorrectly displaying £400 give or take depending on when I spend. You know it has the "pending payments" then your available balance? My fake balance had been showing £600, then available balance "real balance" £400. Today it shot down to £43. I HAVE £43 to my NAME. I have to pay £70 for Alfie. Major panic. Went to the bank and she said the £200 just was a fake number she doesn't know why it was there she said it must have corrupt from spending and transferring money etc. That I didn't have that to begin with. I said it's been showing it for months and she said yeah it's wrong and she went through it all and tallied it up. £43 is right. I'm dead. So desperately trying to make money right now lol doing as many nails as humanly possible. SO GLAD I didn't order someone else to do the fleece sleeves as I would have been mega negative in money ffs.

this is Misty/Emily! a year ago. Have everything ready, just need to move the guinea pigs over to make room for her cage. Am making her lots of ground toys as i think hanging toys will freak her out.

got some wood toys, wicker balls, pumice stones & stuff. Am going to thread them with hemp into a circle (rather than as a hanging toy) so she can still play, but I can offer her them so she's not surprised. I keep picturing her getting hit in the head by a new unexpected hanging toy! Trying to think of everything I can to enrich her life. My first priorities are to make sure she's healthy & to enrich her life, see if she comes out of her shell.

Do you know anyone with a sewing machine? It'll be much, much quicker!

Can you just lay the two layers on top of each other, without sewing? That fabric shouldn't fray, so you don't have to worry about securing the edges for that reason.
Wish I was several thousand miles closer to you, I could sew those up for you in just a few minutes.

I could easily make some up but I'm away to Dublin for the next week from tomorrow morning so couldn't do it for Thursday. Lying them on top of one another like winic suggested should work as a temporary measure though!

Seconding what others have said about borrowing a machine if you can.
If you can't do that try a whip stitch. I find those to be much faster, often look neater, and will secure the edge a little better. If you want to get fancy, try a blanket stitch, it is very similar to the whip but looks a little neater. Google those for pictures and instructions, both are very simple. Both also hide the imperfections much better.
Right now you are doing what is called a running stitch and I find that you are doing it as well (if not better) than I ever have. Something about the running stitch just always brings out all the imperfections. At this point I never do it.

Get some thread closer in colour and nobody will ever see. It looks fine to me anyway. I think you need to sew all the time for years before you could do something like that neatly, and I'm reassured it took you so long, I thought I was the worlds slowest sewer! If there is a top and a bottom, do a tiny stitch on the top and a longer one underneath. It's worth asking people if they have a sewing machine you can borrow, you might be surprised how many people have one stuck in a cupboard. Chins look lovely, I'm so excited for you both

Yes darthchinchi. Can you tell me what her colour is from that 'photo? I have no idea. Not that it's important, just curious.

They are both absolutely gorgeous...look at Misty's little face I can see us getting chins as our next pets but it will be after Lula and Millie as they demand alot of our care and attention. We actually thought about chins before we discovered goo's! Will also be adopting and will gladly take on those needing extra care.

Hello! I'm alive I didn't die lol. Yeah is Alfie just a standard grey? moletteuk it's turned inside out and so when I turn it back the right way you shouldn't see anything is the theory 😂 So excited! Cage is going up today (cal is doing it maybe) or when I'm back tomorrow.

Yep. Light standard Em.
I do see a small spot random. You might want to get her eyes checked. I'm not sure she is completely blind. Looks in good shape BTW. No eye problems or drooling issue and very nice fur.
Are you sure if age random? Looks younger judging by her ears. Normally they would have loads more freckles at that age.
