Does anyone know where there is a vets near Sutton Surrey? Domonic at The Village Animal Hospital in Caterham is recommended for rats (various branches, not 100% sure Domonic still works there, so investigate first) as is Heron Vets in Morden (though I've not personally been to this practice). Alternatively if you can travel, Rob at Seers Croft near Horsham is a really good exotics vet and just generally good with complicated rodent things. He will have seen various degu and chinchillas before as Starlight Trust Animal Rescue use him, but they're not the cheapest practice. eta - for explanation, I used to live in SW London, and travelled out of more central London to Surreyish places for good rodent vets It's been a good 2.5 years since I was regularly seeing vets down there, and the practice who I do use when I'm visiting family still is in Clapham Junction. They're really good with rats/ mice/ hamsters, but no idea on degu capabilities. All Creatures in any case, should you want to vet out (haha) as many practices as possible by phone before deciding.

I just wanted to offer a recommendation for CJ hall vets in south west London- it's a two hour round trip for me to get there but I wouldn't go anywhere else, they are excellent at taking care of my little chap's dental problems and an infection associated with his teeth.
Would really recommend Allan the vet there. My degu always seems to come round from his dentals amazingly well when Allan does them. He is up and about and eating normally less than an hour later.

I found a fantastic vet clinic in Toronto, Ontario in Canada that focuses on exotic animals and has lots of experience with degus, as well as a number of vets that work in the same clinic. I highly recommend them: The Links Road Animal & Bird Clinic 41 The Links Rd. Toronto, Ontario, M2P 1T7 (416) 800-6220 www.thelinksroadanimalclinic.comThey are just off the 401, so if you live near Toronto, it is convenient as well.

I wanted a check up for my crowd, especially as I know nothing about mine.
For North Hampshire, St. Kitts in Hartley Witney are good, and experienced with little googoos. As a nice little bonus, they have surgery seven days a week at no additional cost, and are open until 7.30pm in the week! St Kitts Veterinary Centre High Street Hartley Wintney Hook Hampshire RG27 8NS

Chine House Vets Sileby Hall, 12 Cossington Rd, Sileby LE12 7RS
Tel 01509 812446
For Loughborough area, they have an exotics branch and they were amazing with my degu! Had a vet who solely worked with small furries, so I felt in very safe hands.

Just back from Kings Road vets in Sunderland. I took Pixie for his heath check.
Wendy, the vet was very good, and certainly knows degus.
Couldn't catch Dixie so he has his health check next week.

Hi all, Just wanted to say i've recently been to the Scott Veterinary Clinic in Bedford, UK - they were absolutely brilliant, very kind, caring and especially knowledgable. There are two exotics specialists there, Nathalie and Paz and they are both excellent. Unfortunately it's a 4 hour round trip for me, but well worth it

I have been meaning to add Jacqui Paterson's vets in Stockton, UK. They were who I was referred to when my chinchilla was baffling my usual vet. The vet's there are very knowledgeable with exotics including degus & sugar gliders (as well as reptiles) A lot of local rescues use them. I saw Doninika who was really knowledgeable & had done degu castration & dental work. Just want to update everyone that Westways in Newcastle Upon Tyne no longer has an exotics expert. Their expert has moved to Robson and Prescott in Morpeth.

I keep meaning to add, Piddle Valley Vets in Dorchester, Dorset. They are an exotic specialist and are great with both the goos and our hedgehog. I don't know the number off hand but will happily look it up if anyone needs it.

I've just been given the addresses of two exotic specialists in the Merseyside area for possibly extracting Zoe's tooth - haven't checked either of them out yet, but the vet I see at my regular surgery recommends them for the fiddly stuff.
