Got home this evening and checked on Dennis it seems his willy isn't fully retracting into the cone!!Its the end of it polking out. Phoned the vet and they can't see me untill tomorro afternoon!! As its not an emergency what should I do in the mean time ? What if the others nip it ? Should I put him on his own or with another to lessen the risk of further injury?? Mr grey seems intent on going for it which is worrying me ALOT.

I think one of my boys had a slight prolapse a while back. I asked my vet (when I was in with one of the dogs) what I could do to help. He said to use some sort of lubricant eg ky jelly, and to try and apply it to help ease it back it. It was quite comical really. Me there with a cotton bud, lubed with some ky jelly, trying to 'splodge' it onto Stan's bits. It wasn't prolapsed too seriously and it did go back where it needed to. I have no idea if it was due to the lube or that it just fixed itself. No idea if that'll help you though...

That's what I did, just a little, very gently. I'm not sure I managed to get much on, but it' worth a go. Just be very gentle, it's delicate as I'm sure you're aware. It may rectify itself if you give it a chance anyway...hopefully someone else might have an idea...

Yeah, I would try the vaseline, but ky jelly would be better, and I've read about a product called Healx, which you get from the vet to treat it. With this happening so soon after the abscess, I'm concerned that he still has infection going on inside and the pressure from that might be pushing on the penis. I really think you should push for a course of antibiotics from the vet, along with some Healx if the penis still isn't fully retracted tomorrow. If Mr Grey is getting close to nipping the sore area, I think separating them somehow could be a good idea.

Lol oh dear Kins, that is not a good mental image I hope it sorts itself out AMC, I have no suggestions so I'll just sit on the sidelines cheering on the comeback of his retractability......... Erm scratch that, his recovery!

Well we bought and tried the ky but it really stressed him out so were just going to leave it alone maybe just give it a squirt with cool water to keep it moist? He's eating and running about but constantly going back to it and nibbling it what ever he's doing, iv just seen him wee so least that's ok. If I really feel the need to seperate shall I seperate him with a mate I don't want him to get lonely My husband is coming to the vets tomorrow he's a bit more firmer than me lol ! Can't believe this is all happening with a few months of having them And I'm so cross the vet has made me wait untill tomorrow afternoon!!!!

I would separate him with a mate, as he will feel more distressed while being apart, and you don't want that.
If you deem a separation is needed.

Lol typical just gone in to sort the cage out and they are all snuggled up asleep the 2 grey ones wrapped right around Dennis !! When I see them like that I really don't want to seperate ! Do you think that's for the best ?? If so maybe I could leave them together untill bed time then pair them up untill I have finished work tomorro??
Also should I take a mate to the vets with Dennis , and should it be the same or different mate who he was pared up with over night ?
Stresssss

You should take whomever you decide to pair him up with. But . . . only separate them if you feel it is really the best thing you can do for Dennis. If Mr Grey is causing him grief and becoming aggressive, then yes, maybe that is what you need to do. If not, and if you are OK with the interactions you see happening, then leave them together.
I hope that isn't too vague an answer, AMC.

I agree, only separate them if you think Dennis is in danger. If you decide to keep them together, I would still take another with Dennis to the vet, and sand bath everyone before you reintroduce them.
If you can't get a lucky dab of ky jelly on with a cotton bud, I think you might need to restrain him in a towel to get it applied. I don't think water spray would help, and I'm really undecided about suggesting something like olive oil in a spray, I don't know what anyone else thinks?

I'm really glad it's back in . . . but I think Moletteuk is on to something and he must need oral antibiotics. There must be an infection inside, and I can't help wondering if he may even have a pocket abcess that may need draining? Anyway, I hope and pray you will find your vet very helpful and that the treatments they choose to give him will be very successful.
I'm so sorry it's been such a dreadful day!

Oh no, the best you can do for him is keep him warm. Ring the vet, tell them the situation has changed and that you need an earlier appointment if possible.
*hugs* hope you're coping okay!

But I made him a hot water bottle before I left and he wrapped him self up in his fleecy blanket and bedding. And when my husband Left for work he checked again and they were all fast asleep !! I hope he makes it untill 2
