Maybe he could do with some time out from them, he won't like it by any means but it might make him realise that living peacefully with the others is better than living alone?

So maybe over night in the old cage ?? Do I leave him in view of the others or put the cage in a seperate room? I think the separation will upset me more than him I hate seeing him distressed from being separated.

I know what you mean, you just need to be tough though lol. I'd try leaving him in sight of them at first though.

Right so he's set up in the thickets cage tonight opposite the others if he gets very distressed should I put him back ? Or just leave him

Chloe, you need to find a decent vet ASAP.
Ask on the forum right away and start ringing round and asking your local vets if they have degu experience, or contact a local small animal rescue for a recommendation.
The antibiotics may kick in soon and start helping, but as DC said yesterday, he could have an abscess which needs draining. I've also mentioned that a good product for a prolapsed penis is Healx, I've just looked it up, it must be the Soother Plus cream.

Well done Chloe Ask lots of questions to try and gauge how much knowledge and care they have We've had a few less than glowing reports of Pets @ HOme vets, the standard of care just doesn't seem to be there Don't worry about castration yet, I still think it's too soon, and it's easier to deal with one thing at a time anyway.

Yes but how do I deal with mr grey ?? Do I leave him with the others and continue to allow the attacks?? It can't be good for Dennis's recovery ? And earl too he's been injured by grey. Or Do I keep him on his own and only allow him with the others when I'm home as if he badly attacks the others during the night or wile I'm at work ill never forgive my self !!??

went to the vets, i used to use that one with my cats and hamsters, and i also did my work experience there wen i was 16. funnily enough i had the vet i assisted when i didn my work experience. so i didnt cry lol! he said it looks as though hes prolapsing, because where the tissue is healing its healing quite tightly causing it to get stuck sometimes, he said that it looks like its healing well though and he didnt think i needed any cream. hes said to keep an eye on dennis it should prolapse less as the swelling lessons but if not bring him back and they will give him a wee stretch or something so it loosens up the opening. dennis now os bleeding from his foot he got caught in a fight between the 2 greys and got a nip. poor baby!
