I don't really wanna buy it online incase there's a smell to it or something Did you take a look at where I said to buy it from? I’ve bought it from there several times and it’s really good stuff. Ughh I'm a ejit I totally forgot lol. Thanks

Weird, it worked when I sent it you earlier.
It’s not working for me either now.
I’ll keep checking back for you as I’ve never had an issue from there.

Hi no!
I used to use it in my aventuras fine.
Just find something to temporarily weigh the corners down if they roll.

I bought the cocoon bedding line from aubiose. I'm currently just mixing it in with carefresh as I spot clean cages. Goos seem fine with it, and I haven't noticed any smell!

I've just had a really good conversation with a lovely gentlemen at Green Mile about their cardboard bedding (order through ratrations.)
For anyone who uses(d) finacard and is struggling to get hold of it, Green Mile is a similar product. I've ordered a bale to give it a try and I'll report back.

I have metal shelves and using a coco roll looks quite nice. do you think I should put it directly on metal or put a blanket or something beneath it?

Personally I'd put something like a puppy training pad underneath, something that absorbs the urine so it doesn't just sit on the metal or soak the liner.

I think that is an excellent suggestion, Savvy! That will also wick the urine away from the coco liner which could potentially give it a longer life without getting smelly.

So the coco doesn't absorb much, urine just passes through? Is it just for goos to have a soft ground? Using a pad is a great idea.

I've not used it myself, but I think others have reported pooling/soggy spots in their toilet areas, but I may get remembering incorrectly. I think it can only hold so much it so it needs something that can drain it away.
I do know that with a loose substrate you can just clean the toilet areas, with any liner you'd have to replace the whole lot which can get expensive. The puppy pads are much easier to both get hold of and replace.

Green Mile bedding:
I said I'd review this after using. It's great! It is very similar to Finacard, but comes in a branded bag which strangely gives me more confidence over what I'm getting than just a plain polythene sack. The bale is HUGE! It is slightly more expensive than Finacard and not quite as course as the one my local pet shop sells, (the brand name of which escapes me, and is only available in small packs,) but the size of the bale makes it much better value.
As with anything though, I give the gang the casting vote, they've spent the week chewing it, moving it around the cages and nest building with it, so I think it's a winner with them as well.

Is that smaller package called CareFresh?

No, it's eco something or other. It costs about £6 for 5kg of it. Green Mile is about £15 for 20Kg.

Hi all,
Coming back here with an opinion for my bedding. My goos have a new cage for almost a month. I put coco as bedding and an absorbent puppy pad beneath it. The main problem is the smell on the top level. I noticed urine in the front of the cage especially in the corners, but also where the wheel is. I've read another post here a guy saying that his goos are peeing like mine - maybe they are delimiting their territory, does this happen to you as well? Anyway, back to the topic. So I think I may use the coco only on the bottom level. where the food and sandbath is. For where they do their business all over the place I might try specific paper bedding. Or do you guys think there is a change I can save the coco? put it in hot water with some natural disinfectant and then dry it ? ..
Another question that pops my mind is how thick should the bedding(the one designed for rodents made of pellets) be?
