I still find a must spray good with them. Just make sure it's a fine one and you don't overdo it;)

I think they should be fine at 24C, I would take the behaviour change as them making sensible adjustments.

Yeah, so hard not to worry when something different is going on.

My kitchen can hit 29° during the day. The goos' only change is that they're sitting on shelves instead of heatpads. Even Spidey has been trotting along in the wheel!
They do become more hyperactive in the evenings, though.

Spidey must be feeling a bit better.
Its a lot cooler today so they've all been either camped on the food pile or just piling. Lots of squeaking from whichever poor goo is too hot at the bottom of the heap though. But she soon shifts her sisters, lol.

Oh, the joys of living opp North! Yeah, Spidey gets up in the morning when I go into the kitchen for my drugs, and hasn't dragged his original donkey toy into the nest with him. It's hilarious when he's out of the cage. I swear he's picked up Chinese mannerisms from my mum - Sausage and Spud sit at the bars to greet him, but he acts like they're not there because he won't admit he was wrong to eat Sausage toes and now wants to be friends and lose face!

Did a weigh in today when the new scales arrived. Ruby the Foody is still a hefty 302g and wouldn't come out of the tube when I tried to put her back in the cage. Sphene is holding at 198g, but still eating well and taking her meds. Little Amber was having none of it so she'll have to be caught tomorrow.
Reggie is 297g but is a physically much bigger degu.
I weigh them all in the BDDT as it easier to keep an eye on them, although I'll have to watch Reggie as it looks like she's big enough to jump out! Now the question I have relates to her behaviour in the BDDT. I didn't clean it before putting Reggie in as she knows there are other degus nearby. I had to coax her onto the scales as she was very interested in where Sphene has peed. There was no signs of aggression or stress, just a very keen interest in Sphene's pee.
I am keen to get them all together, but I know I'll have to be careful. Ruby is blind so I can't introduce her initially, but would it be possible to let Reggie and Sphene meet? My big concern is the 100g weight difference.

I would be careful. I don't clean my kitchen floor between each group, nor the different obstacles and toys on the floor. Everyone is fine, no one takes ownership (unless you count Sausage's utter devotion to the shredded paper box). However, let any of them come together, even with bars between, and toes are lost. I would just stay very close and have a sure fire way of immediate separation!

Oh I'd be standing by with the towel and sieve don't worry. I can't let Reggie and Little Amber meet as I know LA doesn't get on with Reggie.

Is Little Amber a fiery ember? Every time I think of her, I almost see her sparking with feistiness. LOL!

She's a little hothead, especially when she's on heat, lol.

Well, if it will fit in the taxi, the BDDT gets an outing tomorrow with the Yorkshire Lasses as they go off to see Wendy.
I'm taking all three, even though its Sphene (6 month prescription check) and Little Amber (dental check) who need to be seen. Ruby the Foody may be tagging along so she doesn't panic being left on her own in the cage without her sisters, but if she panics in the BDDT, I'll leave her at home. Reggie can get some peace and quiet, lol.
I've measured the BDDT and given the measurements to the taxi company so hopefully, all will be OK.
Wish me luck!

Thank you! I think Little Amber may need a dental though as Ruby the Foody has had a damp patch on her back from where she's been piling, and her front teeth look a little long. Her weight is holding though, and Sphene is now 208g.

Back from the vets!
Sphene is doing really well, but Little Amber had to have a small dental (front teeth trimmed, one very small spur removed, but no ulcers, cuts or abrasions)
Both were very well behaved, Sphene wriggled a bit, and didn't bite, but Little Amber fell asleep in the towel as the vet was cuddling her. Bless her!
She's had a big drink of water and is nibbling on food, Ruby the Foody hasn't left her side since we got back. I think she missed her sisters while we were out.
I've put a snugglesafe in, but so far they're ignoring it.

I'm so glad to hear it has gone so well, and you caught the dental issues so early!! Well done, Savvy!!

I've grabbed her tonight and isolated her for a few minutes to check on her. She's had quite a few sunflower seeds, two flaked peas laced with a very small dose of metacam and a small piece of hazelnut. I heard one of them eating hay earlier, but they were all in the nest so I don't know which one it was.
She's certainly feisty enough and I'm really pleased she's eating. After meds I put her back in the cage and she's had a bath, and a dig in the substrate before joining her sisters back in the nest.
Hopefully by tomorrow her mouth will have settled enough for her to be back to almost normal. Ruby hates being away from her and has cuddled her all evening.
