Daily update - the wound still looks good, and stitches are still intact! He's still being Spidey, but he and Silly have been popping back to the nesting cube for naps. Sillygoo (bless) does keep checking on him if he's not been with him for a while.

He apparently has internal stitches only, so that's it! He doesn't need antibiotics either, because his wound is so good! He spent the journey home, having stood one of the cardboard tubes up, standing in the middle chewing!

Good lad! (just this once!)
Did they say when the test results would be back?

And he's not bitten the vet once!
Results should be back by Friday.
Warning to everyone - there is currently a national shortage of Metacam as a brand. Loxicom is still readily available (which is the same) but, if you have fussy gits like me..... the vet said they're not sure if this is Brexit or Covid related.

Finally managed to get a photo! You can see the missing fur going from the left, which is what he or Silly did when the lump appeared. The pink bit at the base of his neck is where the lump was removed.

I had to look HARD to fine his other forepaw! LOL! I was almost going to ask if they had removed his left leg. Then I found it . . . even having found it, it is hard to see!

He was waving around at the time. Sausage was above, and he occasionally knocks some substrate down onto Spidey.

How's he doing? Any word on the histology? (it's taken me a week to remember that word!)

You must be psychic - John Chitty's literally just put the phone down.
It's a particularly aggressive, malignant tumor. The only thing I can do is to keep an eye on him, and call asap if I see anything growing that shouldn't be.

Exactly, Oh no!
Did they get it all out?
I have every faith that Spidey can kick its butt! I mean it wouldn't dare come back.

John said it will most likely come back. What they removed was basically on the very edge of the tumour. When it does reappear, he's going to try and remove a bit more around it to "create a margin".

It's good that you have a decent vet working with you.

My heart just SANK!! I'm so sorry . . . and am truly hoping that it will be a very different outcome than what is forewarned. Sending you hugs, Bouncy!

It's back, so I'll give John a call on Monday. It had pushed nearly 2cm of internal stitch thread out, which was really annoying him, but he suffered me snipping it away with nail scissors.
