Yeah. Hoping that the problem isn't huge. Just upset since I've been telling my landlord this is an issue since October 2nd. They've brought in pest control twice, but they don't seem to have done much. And the pest control people wanted to put down glue traps, so not sure how much I trust them anyway.

Glue traps are horribly cruel.

That they are. I told they were absolutely not allowed to put them in my house.
Third mouse in less than 24 hours. I'm gonna call tomorrow morning. They need to bring out someone professional this time or I will and its coming out of my rent.

Honestly, the best way to get rid of mice in your house is to use poison. Yes, I said that, but it's true. With the number of mice you are seeing, you have a serious infestation. We used to use this stuff called "Just One Bite." It tastes so good to them, that they would chew through the plastic tub it was stored in to eat it. Just make sure you put it in places where no other animal can get to--in the attic if you have one, up around the edge of the basement walls under the floor beams, down cracks and gaps, where water pipes go through walls or floors, etc. Places where nothing but mice and rats can get to. Snap traps and no-kill traps are not going to get rid of that many mice.

I agree. Once you get an established nest, they can do untold damage. They can enter through a hole the diameter of a bic biro, so you'll need to find their entry points after they've gone.
As Winic says, it's going to have to be a poisoned bait. They take it back to the nest to add to their foods, and poison the whole nest. They won't just die there, they tend to go outside.

Absolutely. And that's what I've been trying to get my landlord to do. I'm going to make sure I'm home while the pest control is here to ensure they do their job.
I got really firm with the assistant property manager on the phone today. They don't seem to be as concerned as I am, but by Massachusetts state law I have a right to a rodent free apartment. Maybe I should play up the serious damage they can do to houses.

At the same time you're fighting the landlord to properly treat the whole building, go buy yourself a small tub of the stuff and treat your own space. That way at least they won't be coming inside your own apartment.

Plot twist--my unit possibly has asbestos so they can't go looking in walls/setting poison back there until we know for sure.
So today's pest control visit was not the most helpful, but at least I was there to tell them how serious this was. He couldn't look behind the dishwasher since maintenence wasn't scheduled to be there and do it for him. But he at least refilled the bait box behind my oven.
He pulled the bait box out, shook it, opened it up and said "oh wow, these mice are vicious." Apparently they chewed through the insides trying to get as much bait as possible. Fingers crossed the bait refill starts to help.

Hungary mice!
When was your place built? I don't know how it works in the US, but a surveyor would have identified any during a purchase, so perhaps the agents can go back to the owner?

I'm pretty sure that's also how it works here, but I don't know for sure!
She just has to check the binder on my townhouse, which is back in the office. Pest control wasn't setup to get into walls today anyway, I guess.

Just had a mouse trap trigger--but it didn't catch a mouse. Nor have there been signs of mice that I've seen recently. So I have no clue if something else triggered it (it was near my vents, or maybe a vibration) or if the mice are back.
I've rebaited all the mouse traps. Some were missing bait, but still had peanut butter residue. I'm hoping that it was just that it had been a long time since I've put new peanut butter on, so it had sort of crusted over. I didn't put much bait on to begin with.
Urgh.
