In a bit of a time crunch so I'll respond to all the comments later, but did want to give a quick update. And thank you all, lots of great advice, this very much should be my landlords to deal with. But they really don't seem interested in doing more than the minimum. Silver lining, I now know to ask about pest issues for the next place I live!
I slept horribly but saw no mice. I did leave several lights on though. Looked in all the edges of room, didnt see any mouse droppings, though I could have missed it. Going to buy more peppermint oil today, I'm sure the store thinks I'm baking up a storm!

Actually, if you can, also look for very spicy oils, like chili oil or even hotter stuff (Do mind your fingers, eyes etc!). Some heavy-duty capsaicin should be way too much for mice to handle.

Wasn't at home last night, but when I got back this afternoon I checked for signs of mice and didn't find any! So either I'm missing something or this is a good thing.

Ugh. Just went into my lower kitchen cabinets which I just use as storage for things I never need. Well. There are mouse droppings. I have no idea how old they are though!
I'm really starting to hate this place, so glad I'm moving soon.

Clear them out and check again tomorrow. No new droppings, no new mouse activity.

Thanks Savvy!
Just finished initial cleanup. Everything is soaking/sprayed down. Good news is that the droppings were hard and dried out, so should be at least a few days old.

OH YAY!! I'm so glad you have a new place!! How long have you been in this current place? Somehow it feels "new" still, ROFL!! Even so, I am really glad you have found a new place and are moving soon! I can tell you are excited! So, tell us about your new place. Your own parking space? Townhouse, huh? Lots of stairs? Already planning where you will locate the goos?

Haha, I've actually only been in this place about a year. I'm defending my thesis soon and got a job in a different state (new place is just north of Boston) I'm a bit overwhelmed with everything, but I'm really excited for all of the upcoming changes. Here's to hoping the new place doesn't have mice, or a wasp problem, or tons of bugs, or water leaking from the ceiling... It's a 1 bedroom two story townhouse! I'm losing a ton of square footage, but most of that is from losing the second bedroom. Renting near Boston is ridiculously expensive so I'm hoping to save enough to buy in the next few years. But yes, my own parking spot, and only one flight of stairs. And it was recently renovated with nice vinyl planking and modern finishes (like a dishwasher!). Haha, I spent a day visiting the area and viewing 5 different apartment complexes and in visualized where I would put the goos in each one. The ground floor is open concept with a living room/dining room/kitchen but has plenty of space for the goos. I may have to play with the layout for a bit, and find some pretty containers for all their stuff so that it is presentable for when people visit.

Exciting times, sounds great! Wishing you luck with your thesis interview (there's a word for that I'm sure, but can't think what it is) and the move and the new job.

Either my mouse is back or I'm losing it.
Put medicated rice puffs on the rescues cage overnight so Ollie's morning metacam dose would be ready to go (he refuses to eat it if it isn't soaked into the treat). But they were gone this morning. Yay.
Just to test and make sure I didn't knock them off or do anything weird, I made a trail of 4 rice puffs. So if any are missing tomorrow morning I'll know it was the mouse.
