Hi I was wondering about my degus fur, is there anyway I can get there fur to become less dull and more healthy and shinny because my degu has bald patches due to over grooming which the dominant degu does to him because the dominant one doesn’t have fur issues. I don’t think it’s due to stress because they have out of cage time and lots of enrichment.

Do they have access to a sand bath?

I would leave it in. Which degu is it that has the dull fur? Is it the smaller one?

Oil seeds tend to improve fur condition as they contain all kinds of vitamins, minerals and beneficial oils. There are a couple of degu seed mixes you can buy ready made from Ratrations, or you can make your own using our nutrition charts deguworld.proboards.com/thread/15602/vegetable-seed-nut-nutrition-charts You would want a predominantly high calcium mix plus some linseed and maybe some sesame and a little milk thistle.
