Do you see any swelling around it, or discolouration?

Does the area look ok.
He will be trying to stay as hunched up as possible while moving and keeping his leg, right or left, in the air will feel more comfortable for him. Gravity means he will feel that area pushing/pulling down so he will be doing what feels better for him. Great that he has has food and water without any encouragement.

Ah bless, they are a worry but you are doing a great job and totally agree on keeping handling to a minimum.

imgur.com/gallery/vcGdZVSHe is super fiesty today! But still limping, normally he'd come to me so I would take a decent pic but he is having none of it so these are the best I can do at the minute. Obviously he is normally covered in hair, the wound looks ok from what I can tell but wasn't sure if this was swollen or normal? Xx

That looks good to me Kikgoos. The swellen will take probably the weekend to go down and he will stop limping, I cant see anything to be concerned about. The fact he is more feisty is a good sign to.

WOOHOO!! Two lady friends!! Wonderful!! So glad that has worked out!
In cages side by side, with maybe an inch or two between the bars will be good . . . unless you see Larry get too excited. Well . . . maybe having them opposite sides of the room or in different rooms if that works for you, for the first week would be better. Just to give him time for the initial healing and all.
In addition, that gives you time to get to know them, and them to know you. As well as adjusting to the changes in their surroundings. New sounds, smells, and lighting changes do take some time to adjust to. You may have already thought of this, but just sitting by their cage and talking gently to them at first can help with their adjustment. If they are keenly interested in you, but you don't want to handle them just yet, then the offering of treats through the bars will help with the building of acquaintance and familiarity.
I'm so excited for you and Larry!!

Aw thank you! Yes I really do not have the room for another cage but as this has all happened quite quick and Larry is still healing I'm going to put the girls in my room at least until his swelling has gone down (my husband is not aware of this yet as he flatly refused another cage anywhere in the house. Oops) but then I do think I will need to do a top and bottom cage split with viewing point as we discussed before.
I have a positive feeling about it, once again these girls look like they are in an awful small parrot cage and I can't see any floor space that isn't just a wire bottom :-( only 2 small shelves in it and one hammock. Xx

If you put loads of treats and a snugglesafe in with them, it will help settle them during the journey. Also a tube or somewhere they can hide.

Having a large towel or something that is breathable that you can cover them with will also help. They won't feel so exposed.

Journey back ok! Took almost 3 hours!
The cage they were in was truly dreadful, it wasn't worth taking so I've had to put them in half of my current cage. They are ridiculous lol, they had no floor space in their cage only 2 ledges and no wheel so they keep moving around the cage by hanging onto the bars and climbing behind the wheel and not on it! Maybe why their tails are so much shorter than Larrys? Normal or injury?
Larry is doing well today, had all his meds (on oats). Limp much much better and moving more. same level of swelling but no redness. His post op check is tomorrow. Regarding his neighbours he is sat merrily in his hay at present tilting his head to hear them chew things.
Xx
