They were very much testing boundaries! Nope, normally they're given on the same plate. It's done in a very specific manner though, haha (see photo)! photos.app.goo.gl/LwoBwFgkkBVsUZuj7I know, I was so impressed by her! I actually just booked her for the a night next month since I'm going to visit a friend (her thesis defense!). Did not actually tell them off at all! I was worried about their health, so mainly was just relieved to see them all good Probably not my finest discipline moment, but its not like they would have paid attention!

HA HA!! They know not to throw a conniption with you . . . the sitter however has all her strings exposed and they WILL PULL THEM just to see how far they can get! LOL!

I think you must be wiser than me, I used to kind of go through the motions of telling them off for my own sanity or self esteem or something - pointless anyway! Great that you have found a good sitter

Good goositters are the best! Mine always insists on popping over before I go away, just to make sure nothing has changed. Secretly, I think she just wants an excuse to see them again - she was having a good chat with Silly today!

Hah, think I was too relieved to scold them, Molette! Don't worry, I try to scold them frequently though it really doesn't make a bit of difference They really are! Before I moved I had plenty of people I could have asked. But I really haven't met many people here at all. I need to work on that, but covid cases/hospitalizations are on the rise in this area. Awww, that sounds adorable Bouncy! I'm glad she likes your bubs so much! I don't know how my sitter likes them so I'm working the heavy tipping angle here, haha.

So a few days ago Pickett's left eye was kinda squinty. By the next morning it was fine again. The past day and a half the same appears to be true for his right eye. I might also being seeing the reappearance of the cataracts that disappeared with oflaxacin treatment.
I wonder of this is linked to his heart disease? He was prescribed the oflaxacin early May of last year (the bleeding eye issue, saw the cataracts maybe a few weeks before that?) And I believe I noticed the weight loss early October? I could be reaching though!

How is he in himself? And his weight if you look over the last 12 months?

On 3/30/21, Pickett weighed in at 257g. On 4/3 he was 256g. 4/21 he was at 228g. This would have been around the time I noticed the cataracts. Early May 2021 he was given eye drops.
I honestly don't have many weights on him for a bit then. I do have a 7/19 weight for 255g though. Huge drop between 9/8 and 9/26 (down to 200g) was when I realized something was up. Meds were started around 10/20.
He held ~210g until early February of this year. Started inching into the teens then was in the 220s through mid March. Mid-march he hit 230s in mid April he started getting into the higher 230s. He's been high 230s-low 240s since then.

He's had a bit of a duvet day today. Hoping its from the schedule changes recently (was normally waking around 7:15 am, but for the past two weeks it's been closer to 6am).
He's had a lot of excitement what with my parents staying with me for a week then my friend up for the long weekend.
We'll see. His eye looks less squinty though. I've also got the eye drops from last time.

So, overall he sounds like he is doing quite well at the moment when you allow for the recent disturbance with different people around.
So the eye issue may just be an isolated eye issue, new or returning, or it could be linked with the heart disease or heart meds, but it doesn't sounds like in a deteriorating way, could the meds need adjusting? I think I would give it a few days to see what happens if anything remains concerning or gets worse then book him in for a check up.

Yes, I would agree! The eye thing and being less active yesterday were a bit of a concern. He's been active and acting normally today, which is good.
I did call the vets office and ask if we should be adjusting his dosage anyway, since his weight has gone up significantly since the meds were initially prescribed. The vet is supposed to get back to me sometime tomorrow.
I've got the same pet sitter coming in tomorrow night since I'll be away for a friend's thesis defense. Very different from when I could leave them for w days without worry! But I did really like this person when they watched the goos a few weeks ago!

Something really freaked Newt out. He's been sort of alarming (not the alarm shriek, more of a sharp squeak and then a lower burble? Very bird like). And he will not move from the corner of the playpen hes been guarding!

Maybe there was a grave danger to dekukind, like a woodlouse or spider? Hope he's calmed down by now anyway.

Snoozy sometimes does something similar. I always take it as a "is anyone there? I want someone to talk to me! Ok, how about a cuddle instead? Please.....?"

Newt truly is the hero my household needs! But yeah, no idea what set him off. And he pretty much refused to leave that corner for an hour. If he did, it was that low to the ground slinky walk. He made me nervous that the mice were back though! Might have been the birds outside? They've been very loud and he did keeping looking at the door. Haha, wish they would come for a cuddle! Thinking about that though, I guess Pickett demanding to nap in my pants sort of counts

Pickett demaning a nap in your pants definitely counts! I probably would have a scout round for mouse signs or insects or anything like that, just in case.

Well both Newt and Pickett demanded naps and refused to move today! Newt also ran directly for my pants when one of the Marauders started alarming yesterday. I wasn't expecting that and was quite startled!
I had the townhouse reps come out with the pest removal expert earlier this week. Not that I trust them much, since it took about 3 months for them to listen and fix the mouse issue last time. But they did say the bait stations didn't need to be refilled. Which is a good sign.
