Absolute craziness! It definitely feels like the grow up so fast, but they still are smaller than the adults!
Both Newt and Pickett are in the 200g range, so I except that they wont grow too much more. I'm not sure if goos are smaller over here in the states, or if just my goos are!

I think it's me that has big, fat goos! I say that, but Spidey is just solid like a wombat

I'm now picturing a goo the size of a wombat. They really would take over the world!

First day of bedding swaps! The pups were calm yesterday and today, but we'll see how they do going forward.

My husband and I have watched it beyond counting by now. "My name is Inigo Montoya! You kill my father! Prepare to die!!" "He didn't say true love, he said, "to blathe!" "LIAR!!" "As you wish!"
I LOVE THAT MOVIE!

Mmmmmmmmmmm wombat Mmmmmmmmmmm
I once bottle-fed a baby wombat - considering the size, he weighed double that of a baby the same. Queensland friend used to have one as a pet. Before she installed a/c, they would come home to find it sprawled in front of the open fridge door.
How are the two groups reacting to the bedding swaps on day three?

Hmmm, I may need to watch that movie again soon! Wonder how the goos will feel about it!
Bouncy, that is so amazing! I want to feed a baby wombat! Wow, they are really solid. Hahaha, did the wombat open the door him(her)self?
So this is day two. I think? Everything seems normal so far. There may have been a bit more humping in the rescue group, but everyone's calm.
Stupid question--am I supposed to switch bedding every day, or maybe once a week?

Up to you! I think part of it comes down to whether you've put the swapped stuff in an area where they wee, so the foreign scent disappears quickly.

Ah ok, sounds good. I took bedding (+poop) from opposite cages and sprinkled it across any floors with bedding. So unless they pee all over (totally possible, stubborn creatures) it may last a few days.

Did a second bedding swap yesterday. Everyone seems totally fine! Pups seem much more stable.
I might try moving the cages closer together. Right now the cages kind of form a 90 degree angle, with no overlap. They can see each other, but no way to get to each other.
I've noticed in the past that all the goos can get really defensive when a different group comes up to the cage bars while they're inside (if that made any sense). So having closer cage to cage contact is my next step, I believe.

Yep! If it does get a little aggro, you can always move the cages a foot apart, or even put a board or piece of card between them - out of sight, out of mind.
