Well, holidays become problematic with such large families - eBay the camping gear and surrender your spare room - you know you want to.........

It's the thought of trying to do an accurate head count of 20+ hyperactive, free running degus that I find funny.

The biggest group I have seen is 11 on a video. I don't think they all lived together permanently but they all had play time together in a purpose prepared room... It was craziness but lovely to watch!

It's going to be difficult for you but I would have a serious think about how many you can comfortably afford and how much room you have. I'm sure you will easily find loving homes for the surplus if you need to. But you never know, they might only have 1 or 2 each! Cross the bridge when you come to it, you have the support on here either way

Thanks Definatly only 3 or 4 more and 4 is at a push could afford to keep them all but wouldn't have the space their cage takes most of the living room as it is

This is the problem isn't it... When you actually realise the space large groups need the mind boggles doesn't it! Two Aventuras or similiar cages look great together but take up so much space! My cage is 160cm across, the size of a two seater sofa, and it is a nightmare to transport and we are limited to where we can put it etc. It took 4 men to move it during the house move and it was such a pain. Good job I love it and the inhabitants! I would house a max of 6 degus in it probably to ensure they all still had a fab quality of life.

They're going to be mischievous! Am I right in thinking they don't have their paint brush on the end of their tails yet?
