Well I've had an idea, I'm going to set up the play pen I have and sit inside it with them and begin doing this quite frequently. Oven mitts, leather biker gloves and metal sieves at the ready!!!
I'm also going to set up goo cam and start recording these meets so I can keep track and share with you all here ha, that should be interesting!!!! 😫

They don't hate each other, they just have to get over the mounting phase. I believe once they get past the butt dance - they're almost there !!!!
I've only ever got to the butt dancing then a nipped tail and a scuff breaks out and then they are back in cages in a huff and it's all back to the start again.
The new approach will be to let them calm down whilst still being in each others space. Hopefully they'll just get tired and bored and just want a cuddle 😫
Don't worry, I have reflexes like a cat and I won't let anything escalate. I feel they actually quite respect me enough to listen to a telling.
DOMINATION TIME!

I've never done it, but it sounds like a solid plan to me. Do you have anything like a large board or plastic sheet to maybe make a very temporary "divider" if things get rowdy? Again, never done this, but my idea is: if you had something you could place between them for a few minutes, just to get a little space without fully ending playpen time.

That's how I bonded my rabbits. I used a thick sheet of cardboard to break them up, but didn't separate them once I'd started the process. A cheap plastic chopping board would be ideal for degus, or an old baking sheet if you have one? Just use it 'til they stop going at each other, then remove to let them continue working it out. Around 5-10 seconds can be enough to stop a FBOD. Good luck with it, I really don't envy you! Introductions are probably the one area I have zero knowledge on so I don't tend to comment or have an opinion, but I always follow your threads with interest. Look forward to seeing video, will be very helpful I'm sure.

Oh I wish I could tonight but I've been repotting olive trees and other various plants and shrubs today.. But I think it was the tree pole dancing that REALLY took it out of me 😂🙈

But you do it so well!!! Love it! Are those indoor trees? Are they fruit bearing? Looks like the dogs were wishing you'd hurry up, LOL!

They're outdoor olive trees but sadly I doubt will bear any olive in this climate! Although sometimes they do if planted in the ground maybe, but I don't think they'd be edible ones

I LOVE OLIVES!! Stood in the grocery store ogling the olive cart and trying to choose some to bring home. Then I was just too tired to decide, so gave up and finished getting what I need. LOL! Now I'm wishing I had just gone adventurous and shoved a bit of this and a bit of that into some containers so I could be eating them now.

LOVE garlic stuffed!! Or with hot pepper. Or cheese. The only ones I have some trouble . . . a couple and I've had my fill of them . . . are the ones that are wrinkled and shriveled and black and they have a really strong flavour. I think they must be ages like 50 years by the look of them. I can see using a few in a dish to flavour . . . would be SO GOOD . . . but to eat them alone? One or two is enough, LOL!!
