Quick little update work up this morning and all was fine both separated, so decided to move there cages against each other they were talking etc and seem to just wanna be close. Worst mistake ever as soon as they were about 1cm apart stripe the injured one started to get aggressive very quick and for no reason, while gizmo done nothing but watched.
So I'm going to guess from this gizmo is the alpha seeing he has never been injured and stripe is the one who wants that spot but keeps losing

Or it might be that Gizmo wants company, and Stripe (oh! The link in the names has just this second clicked!) is alpha, but still feels he needs to reinforce this.

Haha gremlins yep TBH gizmo seems to just do his own stuff, 75% of the time ignoring stripe, until stripe gets kinda all psycho and aggressive for no reason. Also how would it be that the alpha had got 3injuries and the non alpha nothing, kinda a reverse power role there. We also gave them both a little squeaky mouse toy which is about the size of a degu to play with each and snuggle up to which we intend to change around so they can smell each others scents and hopefully realize they have 0 need to fight

It might just be that Gizmo has quicker reactions to get in there quickly. My testosterone filled lump of an alpha has tears in both ears, and even a piercing.
Swapping toys is good, and you can also mix in handfuls of soiled substrate from each others cages. Just don't swap actual cages.

We don't intend to, basically now going to treat it as an introduction, until they learn to get on, without the needless aggression over nothing, and hopefully let them sort out the dominance outside the cage with a squirt bottle and towels. Also looking into building a custom cage for them about 120/130w 180h and 60d more then enough room.
Or use an old wardrobe which is about 80w but add a custom running area add on at the bottom to make it about 120w and a running tube the other side so the have 120cm to run in and a tube semi circle to run around it. Multi tiers with an obvious 6ft height and sliding doors at the front properly make 2 sets so can open top and bottom with multi windows for air

Sounds like my two.
Garf hardly ever has a scratch on him after a ruck but Tibb's is always beaten up - even though he is the instigator!
Today they've been making noises I've never heard before, it's warbling sped up x10 lol it sounds very strange, like something powering up 😂
I think as it's raining and it's cooler, they're not so cranky today.
We just have to follow their leads really, learn to read the signs and when to attempt another intro.
I hope it's just a phase for your guys and they can reunite again! 🤞🏻

Your build sounds exciting! I've used the Ferplast ferret tubes successfully with goos before. My big boys are quite yellow. They're scared of the oven and grill fans, the wind, the kitchen if I'm not sat down with them.......

Well a plus today they both seem interested in each others toys and instantly went to groom them without any signs of aggression towards them

No . . . not a good thing. They are going to take a while. Can I recommend that you give them four weeks of living beside/near each other and then re-assess how they are at that time. In the meantime, keep watching them, record what you see, and if you see the cage biting and scratching diminish, and are beginning to hear soft/gentle warbling back and forth, you will know they are feeling more friendly and accepting of each other. That doesn't mean the face to face meets will be without conflict, but they should be more . . . positive.

Have had both today they will have a little talk then fighting through the cage towards each other then sleep although gizmo seems to just ignore stripe half the time, tail wagging and teeth chattering have stopped though unless they are like less then an inch together, we are expecting there will be fights face to face and agreed that anything besides the furball we will let them sort it out unless stripes foot hasn't fully healed or there is blood. Back to the cage fighting though gizmo will only do it if stripe is doing it and almost provoking him into it otherwise gizmo spends most of his time vandalizing his cage well things in it, making his house so full of stuff soon he will have to sleep outside, eating sticks and sleeping... otherwise he has little interest in stripe atm, he is probably think like me just give it up already your not strong enough

Your cage plans sound good It's probably too late to even mention this, but can I ask why the shop gave you the two dominant boys and left two submissives, or was that only realised in retrospect? Are you too heavily attached to swap one of your dominants for one of the submissives? I should say it's not a certainty that this would solve things at this point, I just wanted to mention it as a possiblity.

They didn't realize at the time they were the 2 dominate ones, and yep it's too late for that unfortunately got used to there little personality, makes it hard to even watch them fight in fairness

Well they have food in there 24/7 unless it's being changed so wouldn't surprise me if he has or walked under hit water bottle to get wet, though this time now sat in the vets with gizmo so maybe more evil gremlins to come lol (well probably not 2 fighting is enough)
