Hi everyone. I got my degu girls on Thursday & have really enjoyed their company ever since (I know it's not been long but they're so fascinating to watch!). I'd done plenty of research beforehand & this forum had helped no end with any little doubts I had so I thought I'd sign up. I definitely feel the decision to get Flo & Penny was the right one & I'm looking forward to caring for them & the rest that goes with it. Any tips or advice would be appreciated as I'm a first time degu mummy.

Welcome to the forum and the world of degus. The first few months can be a steep learning curve, they will do things you don't expect, so don't worry about asking any questions - big or small

Thank you both very much! I'll have a read through those threads now. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as I continue to live with my girls! I want to make sure they live the best lives they possibly can.

Welcome, good to hear you are enjoying them so much already Definitely start with the beginners guide and be prepared to re-read some stuff again in a few weeks when you have a little experience under your belt and some of it will sink in a bit more.

You're right there! My head's spinning with information at the moment. I'm sure I'll be re-reading most of the guides to ensure I'm following the best path for their care.
