Rough cost was around £220 ish
It could of been done in a day realistically but it took me a few weeks spending a couple of hours each weekend. Mainly because I had to wait for dry periods of weather but I also built the frame before I ordered the glass just to ensure it was a perfect fit.

im assuming the biggest cost of the build was the wood? im planning to use your design as it is the right shape and size for the space i have available, if thats okay of course. and just trying to work out things ike costs and that. so was the wood the biggest cost, or if not, hwta was it? if you dont mind me asking?

yeah the wood was the largest cost, I shopped around but in the end I ended up spending a little extra and got 18mm spruce plywood just as I thought it looked a bit nicer (and lighter) than the other options. Your more than welcome to use the design

thanks very mcuh, where di you get the wood from? im hoping my dad might be able to help me source the wood, he knows some people in construction and that, so hoepfully that will bring the cost down a bit. im j-gonna change the size a bit, im gonna move the middle section up so then there is a smaller single house up the top for my lone, "disabled" degu and the other two will live done the bottom

Yes it does. If you can seal it with a pet safe sealant, that really helps. I think that is one reason why Krazypara used the tile . . . it will not absorb water OR urine, which will make cleaning easier and greatly reduce urine odor building up.

The wood I bought from Wickes..... it seemed to be the cheapest I could find (way cheaper than B&Q) and it does absorb water. I had lined mine with inexpensive tiles bough from B&M and they are brilliant. All I do is remove the sawdust and wipe down with a damp cloth.

Was it plywood that you bought from wicked? Seen quite cheap wood on wicked. I was going to do that and put tiles on the wood as well.

Yeah, it was the Spruce plywood i got just because it was a lighter colour and looked a bit more natural. I used self adhesive tile packs bought from B&M they were only a few pounds per pack and are easily cut using a stanley knife.

deguwars bear in mind you could use melamine faced chipboard for the shelves, which is waterproof (if you make sure urine can't get in at the edges, but it should be edged to stop chewing anyway).

moletteuk would i be able to use the melamine face chipboard for the whole structure of the cage? if so i might use that that even if its only for the structure and not shelfs it seems cheaper

That said and entire cage built from it could be costly.

Yes, I'm confused because the melamine faced board is about £25 for 2.4x0.6 sheet and plywood is about the same price but for a sheet twice the size (2.4x1.2), I'm looking at Wickes for prices, but they will be similar elsewhere. B&Q do a decent cutting service or you may get a good delivery service from a local builders merchant.
