Have any of you heard of Pet Greens self grow grass for pets? It's a baggy of 100% certified oranic wheatgrass seed and soil mixture. And you grow the grass right out of the bag in a week or so. And it lists it as good for birds cats dogs reptiles and small animals. Just curious if wheatgrass is safe for degus? It'd be interesting to try out, I think. Has anyone tried this product before? Also on a similar topic....are there any yummy things for my degus that I can grow on my porch in a pot? I've never gardened before so I'm looking for something easy to grow but I want to grow something my goos will enjoy. Like a flower or grass? And preferably something that doesn't have a specific season for growing and can handle Florida weather? Thanks

The wheatgrass thing would be fine, probably a lot cheaper to just buy some seeds, but if it's handy for you to have it all ready and safe, why not? Have you seen this thread? deguworld.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=food&action=display&thread=9785I don't really know what would be suitable for Florida in winter, maybe herbs or salad leaves, that's what I would say for UK anyway

We grew a little grass mix you can buy on zooplus for a couple of quid, the goos went mad for it... Didn't survive but I think that may be because it didn't get watered enough because I'm not around every day lol!
