Thanks! Always good and appreciated to have a second opinion ! Indeed the guide was a good help in setting up the cage & diet so far a good tip to recheck the guide, will make sure to do that!

Degus are a steep learning curve and even the most experienced degu slaves still have questions sometimes.
But they are great little guys to have around.

Deffo boys! Degus are weird and smart - just when you think you have them sussed, they do something to confuse you! Oh, and they're smart. Very. When watching you carefully, they're scrutinising for their plans for world domination!

I’m on my second group, and even after 5 years they still make me panic at least once a week so don’t ever feel that you can’t ask any question.

Welcome to the forum, TK1989!! I'm sorry I missed the discussion yesterday, but you have been very well taken care of and didn't need me at all. We have such an AWESOME group!
Sounds like you are having a great time with your boys! Have you named them?

thank you deguconvert! Indeed everyone has been a great help and very kind Yeah I hope they have a good time too but they chitter a lot so I guess that's a good sign... Naming is something I'm struggling with to be honest. I was thinking about Keen & Corvo as reference to two of my favorite games but not sure yet. Maybe it'll change in the near future haha

I need a second opinion on my new girl. I am not experienced at sexing degus and I got her from a breeder so I assume she knows what she is doing. Any thoughts? Attachments:

That looks like a boy to me, but let's check with the others first!

You're looking at a degu's bits, and there's still some nosy whiskers in the way!
I think you better remove him immediately and have a word with the breeder! If he's already in with your lady, you'd best start a pregnancy watch.....

Thank you for the replies! It was indeed a male and I swapped it with the breeder for another female. She had grabbed the wrong one the first time lol. They were just weaned so I don’t think they were sexually mature yet but I’ll keep an eye. Thanks again!

Just weened? As in only four-five weeks of age?
