I now have a happier little Bumblebee. He had his post op check this morning and he is healing nicely.
He now has full access to his cage but has to wait until Monday for his wheel and bath to go back in. Dixie is also a lot happier to have him next to him on all levels again. I hadn't realised how much it was affecting him, not having him next door all the time.

Can’t wait to give Tibbs back his cage! Will be with a roommate too lol He won't need a whole cage when he's with Sandy, just the nest box area, lol.

Oof that's quite the lump isn't it?! Glad he's got back to his normal levels of activity so quickly.
It's so sweet that Dixie was missing him on the other levels of the cage though! It sounds like they might be ready for intros soon (once you've figured out the best way for you to be able to do it that is).

Yeah, it's bigger than I had imagined too. Hope it's healing well and both boys are OK. Are you getting it analysed at a lab, or just doing wait and see?

It was a lot bigger than I thought too, but because of where it was, it couldn't be fully seen. I think he feels better (and a few grams lighter!) now.
I think he's missing his wheel, but he can't have it back until Monday. There's still a little healing to do before his sand bath goes back in.
On the plus, and slightly surprising front, he's let he stroke the top of his head! But only for a couple of seconds.
Intros will probably start of the end of this month when Bumbles has had time to get over everything. I've just mixed a fresh batch of forage and introduced him to apple leaves! He loves them!

It's a wait and see as they thought the lab results would be just as unclear as it was before. I did get a good look at the lump and the skin had completely enclosed around it, but it could be seen where Bumbles had caught/chewed a hole through the top of it and it looked like a large blood clot. If you look at the picture, the red bits are the lump beneath, if that makes sense. The vet said that it looked like congealed blood and there was no way that he could have reabsorbed it, like you would do with a normal bruise. I think we were very lucky that the surgery wasn't invasive, they just had to cut the lump away and close the wound.

He's doing great as far as I can tell. His fur is growing back I tufts, lol, long dark bits growing in first so he looks a little weird. He's definitely missing his wheel, but I've put that off going back in until their cage cleaning tomorrow and I haven't put his sand bath back in yet as he still has a patch that's not quite healed. But he's back to his usual duracell bunny on prozac self.
Eating well, pooing nice big fat ones and doing a fair bit of 'self cleaning' so I think he's feeling much better.
And he's much calmer around me now as well.
