You can get them from any online chemist, you'll have to check for cheapest price. The test strips for glucose only is called Diastix and the type for glucose and ketones is called Keto-diastix, either would be useful to you, just google one or the other or both.

This whole thing is confusing me, am I not feeding right or to much or to little. What do I need to be doing for stop it from happening? Am I not looking after them right? âšī¸

I think its just one of those things DL21. I think you are doing a great job and looking after them really well.

But how do I stop it from happening, I don't want to lose fudge, and saying to keep hazel healthy with her teeth while looking after the rest. Being a goo mum is hard. But I'll fight for them đ

Being a goo mum is hard, I agree, but you are doing everything you can. And I don't doubt for a second that you will fight all the way for them.
Between you and the vet you may be able to find out whats causing these episodes. I think keeping a diary of when they are happening and when she is on heat will help to see if there is a pattern to them.

Yeah, being a goo mom is hard. I also agree, this is very confusing. I don't quite understand the diabetes diagnosis. I would better understand the "fainting/blacking out" episodes if she was diagnosed as having seizures. I'd say keep feeding them and taking care of them as well as you do. They are fortunate to have you as their mum. What would be very informative/interesting is to test her urine with the Diastix and/or keto- diastix. I have never tried this myself but might also see if I can find these to test my degus for diabetes, especially my new ones who seem to drink a lot more water than my others.

You are doing fine. Sometimes there just isn't a simple answer. Get the strips and then we can rule the glucose problem in or out. Any changes to the diet to help with a glucose issue would be small because you already feed them well

She could still be in heat, when my girls get it really bad they are affected for about a week.
