I think it may be a call of some sort, it certainly stopped my boys in their tracks! Is she due on heat at all?

I think it sounded like hiccups to me. I think being in heat with the reduced eating that that would usually involve could be enough to push her blood sugar a bit low. I think it's all a bit strange, diabetes is pretty unusual, and Fudge looks so healthy, it's difficult to know what to make of it.
Maybe you could order some diabetes testing strips and then you could test her a few times over a period of a few days to get a full impression of whether she has a glucose issue. They are called Diastix for testing glucose, or you can get keto-diastix that test for glucose and ketones (which is what you would need to monitor her if she did have glucose), either of those would be fine, you need to order them from an online chemist.

Hi DL, I've had a look all your videos. Unless the blood sugar levels are consistently that high, it suggests Fudge had eaten something not long before. Had you given her a treat before or at the vet? Although 6.0 is a little high, it's still considered a normal level. We all have absent moments when we go off into a daydream, when we suddenly realised someone is trying to get our attention. This would be similar to a mild seizure, but is also accompanied by a repetitive movement like a tick. This might be the behaviour you're describing. It sounds horrible, but don't worry. It can just take a few moments to become aware again. And I agree with the others - goo hiccups are very sweet, aren't they Fudge might also have just had a funny few minutes, unexpected and in true goo style. As the vet said, she seems fine, and she doesn't seem to have any lasting effects, and you have done all you can. Take a deep breath and be happy it appears to have settled. Being a goo hooman slave is very hard work, and they like to stir things up a bit to challenge us.

That night she did it 3 times one at 12am,4am and 6am -7am. Just sacred of it happening and I'm not there or she died in the night or when I'm out busy etc.ive been watching over her since.

what about getting a little jar of some baby food, like strained carrots, maybe, to use as the "something sweet"? She might be willing to take something like that, that's a vegetable but still higher in sugar.
Anyone else have suggestions?

Have you tried thawed frozen peas or cooked organic sweet potato or carrot?
What is she willing to eat? Sunflower seeds? Organic puffed rice? Oats?

Did you think any more about if Hazel was/is in season? Do you have any notes of previous times she was in season that could confirm it?

When was the last time that Fudge had her teeth checked?
(The only time I noticed blood on a degu's mouth was when they had spurs digging into their cheek or tongue.)

I think a 'sensitivity' to her glucose levels in her blood combined with her eating very little for a day or two due to being in heat, could possibly make sense for pushing her into a diabetic episode. I would get the test strips to monitor her and see what level of issue (if any) she might have. I think it's worth trying to rule this in or out because there are things you could potentially do with diet to minimise the problem.
