Did you put some oats on top of it so they know it's nice and cool to sit on?

Am I the only one who's degus have been actively sunbathing today rather than feeling the heat? 😂 then again I walked in the house and it was nice and cool compared to the outside, only a toasty 21 degrees. Our downstairs reached the dizzy heights of 20 degrees yesterday. It was 22 upstairs so I switched to the summer duvet with a blanket. My girls had their cage heater on for a couple of hours yesterday afternoon!!! I still have my jumper on in the house!

If they needed to get cooler, they would stay by or on it.
Also remember, it will be making a zone of cooler air around it, as the cold flows off of it, so they may just be happy with being "in the zone". Also, cold air falls (flows downward) so it may have a cooling effect on all the levels below it, as well.
If they are active, then they are feeling fine.
If they choose some spot near or below it to sit, they have probably found the cool draft coming from it.
As long as they don't look ill, they should be fine.

It's saying it's 27.9 in my house 😫 It's been hitting 30°c in my kitchen, still 28°c when I go to bed. Mine haven't shown the slightest interest in slowing down. Cooler today at 25°c, the only thing the big boys have done is move from their summer bed next to the wheel to the covered donut (winter)!

As for Apple, I get so irate when I have to do something for my mum on her Mac. Took me 20 mins to find the correct # for use in a password!

Switch to the numbers keypad, then press and hold the zero key - you get two options, a zero and a tiny little circle. Slide over to the tiny little circle, and voila! A degree symbol appears. You then sneak back to the letters keypad and tap for a capital C

Degus are, as far as I know, ok in temperatures up to around 30 degrees Celsius. If it gets above that you can have a problem. If you have things in the cage they can use to cool down if they need to (ice packs, cool tiles, etc) they should be ok unless the heat gets ridiculous.
