Can you try something like baby food or mashed up veg and see if she'll take any food that way?

It sounds like she is quite hungry but perhaps is just unable to eat because of the spurs. If you have to wait until Friday for the dental work, this could be quite a long week for Hazel and for you.

Sorry, late back to this!
That's a good price for spur trimming, as they'll need to be sedated 😊

You want the baby food to be just vegetables, no fruit and no added salt or sugars and the likes. If you understand the ingredient list completely and there are no chemical names in there then it's a good sign.
Is coco not eating anything at all? Or is she eating a little bit but less than you are happy with? Is it possible that she's eating while you aren't watching and what have you tried them on so far today?

Havent seen coco eat at all,if they was eating their nuggets while im not watching their bowl doesnt look touch , ive looked in cage for buried nuggets none at all, theyve eaten a bit of oaks, brazil nuts , their treats etc not much tho , they taken few bites and bury them , they seem active, ive got hazel booked in for friday for her spurs . could it be the trip to the vets yesterday, i have no idea what they did to them in the back. could it be cos of winter or are they in heat . idk what to do plus they havent touched their hay

Don't worry about the hay right now.
Hazel is likely not eating because of the spurs. Have you tried feeding thawed out green peas? Another thing to do is grind up sunflower seeds and then add a bit of water to make a paste and see if Hazel will eat that from a spoon. If it is not too much trouble, please list what food you have tried to feed her and whether or not she eats them. Fortunately, she will be getting the dental work in a few days.
Coco might not be eating because of stress or because she is filling up on treats. It could be that she is eating but you aren't seeing it. What I do is I count out a number of Science Selective pellets – usually about 20 per degu, put it in a bowl, and then after about half a day count them again and see how many they may have eaten. Is Coco also burying the treats?
If you are very worried, then weigh them each day and see if their weight remains steady or if they are losing weight.
Are they running their wheel?

This is completely normal behavior for degus, and it helps to keep the healthy bacteria active and populating the gut. They will only eat those poops that have what they need. She is doing good by eating those poops.

Yasmin , I've tryed them with soggy nuggets, oaks, their 2 fave hard treats, dandelion feast, parsley and celery forage brazil nut the takes a bite and burys them and with there nuggets they go up to their bowl and sniff them and walk of and runs to their wheel, gonna buy some baby food tomorrow, I took your idea and put 40 nuggets in to see if they touch them. To be honest I think the vets really stressed them out looking at their teeth. Cos I cant get them. I have to look at their teeth when there drinking. They wiggle so much

When Scaredygoo had his trimmed, he was sore in his mouth and didn't want to go near food. We tried baby food, nut butters...the vet was all set to send over critical care, but my mum sussed it. I keep ground almonds for baking, so she gave him a couple of teaspoons a day until he was ready to start eating again. I added milled flax, oats, and ground hazelnuts to the mix. Within a couple of weeks, he'd gained back 20g

Back from vets, the vet tried to check them wrap coco and hazel in a towel, she said I don't know how they've checked them on monday cos she couldn't see everything cos of their tounge etc dont know how they spotted spurs on hazels teeth, cos hazel stuck her teeth into the vet, hanging on to her finger, she could only put coco on the scales, she is 260g, she Said all she could she is lots of saliva , so I've booked them both in for to go under and give them gas, to check their teeth , she said £80-100 was too much for one, she said it could cost £50 for each.. Always today the women behind the counter said didn't check cocos teeth and lied saying they did.. I was very upset..the vet I seen today was very understanding
