crikey, Ive a pregnant Goo... and now im really nervous about All these things that can go wrong. I thought as Id had a fair few rat litters as a kid i wasn't too worried because rats just get on with it. babies dont try to escape from what i remember and they had around 17/18 each time but would kill 4/5 weak ones.
how they doing now hun?

I'm really sorry, kalraii, you do seem to be having terrible luck.

Hiya!! Been a while - but consider it a good thing as nothing much has gone wrong. It seems it got as bad as it could. Now the degus are too big to escape and they are in the top half of my big cage with daddy downstairs. They are very cute My family have name the three girls Bourbon, Coco & Cookie and the boy is called Bang (daddy is called Flash). SO this Wednesday it'll be six weeks. Bang, the boy, has already started, as of yesterday, to try and hump some of the girls. I'm gonna guess he's set to go. I have been handling the babies each day and letting daddy degu have a sniff and a clean (in my hands, so no humperino!) Everyone seems very calm. Should I just proceed to stick Bang straight in with Daddy today? Secondly, Pinata (the one with cataracts) has suddenly gotten plump. >.< At least I know the signs now! I'm not keen on having a million degus but I am relieved that this whole thing is nearly over and I can see what happens next. Thanks again for your support, hope all has been well

It's great to hear an update, I'm pleased things have gone smoothly lately I would probably play it safe and do a neutral area meet between dad and Bang, just to see how they are alone together. If they seem fine I would put them together on a day when you can watch them for a good amount of time. If Bang is already trying to hump the girls you want to get him in with dad ASAP though! Good luck with Pinata!

Hey again - well I've been introducing Bang (male baby) to Flash (daddy) by hand every day. Flash always took an interest and loved grooming his babies (I made to be there with my eyes on them at all times and the older girls kept apart from him, only for a few mins at a time). So yesterday I was home all day and just put Bang in with him. The sad sounds that came out his mouth :< He's still slightly depressed. But Flash even tried to pick Bang up (he's a big boy now!) and grooms/snuggles him. I'm sure they'll be very happy together.

Good luck, Pinata!
Are the others all doing well? Are Flash and Bang nicely settled together?

Hiya all - I checked this evening - Pinata only had 3 babies? 2 boys, 1 girl all brown. I was definitely expecting more but it's been over 12 hours. She seems fine in herself, came out for a run on the wheel even! Flash and Bang LOVE each other. I'm so happy they settled fast as Flash was very lonely for those 6 weeks and had started to go bald again >.< Bang doesn't like ME so much - I guess he's worried I'm gonna take him from his home again. Time will tell

Three babies isn't that unusual, but if you were expecting more from the size of her and are at all concerned that there might be some left inside, then take her to the vet ASAP.
Good to hear Flash and Bang are so happy, I'm sure Bang will trust you again given time.

I've been following the drama in the background, because I didn't think I could add anything useful.
I'm so pleased that all has turned out with a happy ending! I'm guessing one of the new boys will be Wallop? Lol. Seriously, though, I hope you and your extended goo family all the best x

Thanks guys! xD These 3 babies are bloody well BEHAVED. I spose its easier than the orignal army poor Bandita had. Not even a week yet really and they are already digging through the sand and are even coming up to me! This is a TOTALLY different experience from the first time round. I will be getting pictures of my family of Goo's. Need to find out names now for the two new boys and girl x
