Hello,
I have the impression the last days respectivley the young new year we have only little postings and it pretty calm. In contrast the weeks before christmas it was rather crowded here, sometimes I had problems to follow all the new topics here. But I wonder shouldn't be the opposite way? I mean christmas time is often stressful, so many things to do and so little time, but now I assume the people have time... or do they need the time to recover from christmas time? ;D

Probably recovering from Christmas! I know I am ;D Well, it's more that I had such a lovely relaxing Christmas, hectic but relaxing, that now I am back to work I'm finding it difficult to concentrate for too long a period. <sigh> I have quite a few posts I need to make on my blog, even have the photos and videos but can I be bothered... nope!

Got too many little mouths to feed! lol I have a lot of posts to make too, but when I get a few hours spare, is that really what I want to be doing? Noooo. The chocolate and foot spa are calling to me! lol.

Well, I cannot say exactly why I write less. Perhaps it is because I have to get new ideas first as well as I work more for other projects (my chinchilla forum, the english contents for my website etc.).
But me too I wrote more the weeks in December and also in our chinchilla forum was more activity but I had the impression not at all in the german deguforum.

I think . . . if I remember correctly . . . there has typically been a bit of a lull this time of year in previous years. January tends to be that way . . . even into February. I don't know why . . . perhaps it is more a mental reaction to the deepest part of winter months? It's almost like a short hybernation . . . a withdrawing, or perhaps a unconcious lessing of demands in order to use energies for other things during this season. To use a phrase used here abouts, we knuckle down and bear through. I think it is a reaction, that has finally surfaced after all the maddness of Christmas, to the lack of sunlight and the lower temperatures. January and February are not my favorite months of the year . . . and I tend to think it may be a relatively general feeling amongst north dwelling peoples. Well . . . except for those who LIVE to be out in the snow that is. LOL!

I don't know what you mean David; we had a lively and exciting discussion about men and shopping Aside from that, it seems indeed rather quiet at the moment, not only here but also on deguforum.de. Maybe we'll have to start some new and interesting threads?

Menopause/male and female, women and shopping, women and their emotions, "I just wanted to decide on a solution but my OH wanted to TALK!", mmmm . . . , and "why do women care if we wear mismatched socks?"
Any of those twig a masculine response?

Activity usually goes down drastically in January (as Faith mentioned), it does this every year. This is a trend that most forums seem to go through. March-December is usually very active here...I dont know about the rest of you, but in January and February I am in hibernation mode ;D I have always found it harder to remain as active in forums at this time of the year. This period of winter is very harsh here with very little sunshine hours. I will not lie...the weather does affect me energy wise. I am less energised and outgoing at this period of the year...feel like a depleted battery I am working on several personal projects at the moment + slowly preparing for a move in spring. Have not been active on the internet these past few weeks. Things will go back to normal soon, as they usually are.

There are good biological explanations for January and February to be a rather slow and subdued time. However, there are so many plans for this year that I feel we should cut hibernation a little bit short amie That was meant to be a yo-yo, no intention to hang myself I also thought that these less serious threads would be a good opportunity to ever so subtly prod our mods to give us more smileys on the forum

Fred LOOL I read it, but what shall I say? It's not my matter. Indeed shopping is a crucial topic, if it is for the goos or something else. Actually I spend much money for photography equipment and travel equipment and for food (bio stuff, nuts, dried fruits, vegs etc.).
Do you think so? Hmm...
Well we have spring... ok not quite but we have temperatures around 0-10 °C, hazel produces pollen evoking allergic reactions... and it is green out there. Today I even saw a flowering hawksbeard (dandelion like yellow flower)! Maybe temperature matters, but after two rather cold winters this one is warmer than usual. In addition isn't it the spring, summer and autumn with the warm weather allowing us to use our spare time more for outdoor activities, cage building etc.? For me the winter is the season when I think about changes for my homepage, my forums etc. In the summer there are many other things consuming my time...
Good idea, but I haven't any suggestions.
