Hello  When it comes to the thickets cage by pets at home, I'm really sorry to be the first one to comment on this, but it's not at all big enough for two degus, let alone four. I'm really sorry you were mis sold this cage! It seems to be common practice at pets at home! There are some great suitable cages on ebay etc, or you could perhaps build your own? Hi all, we have our goo's living in this cage but we need a stand for it, or do we just use a table? I am sorry to hear you have been sold this cage. As Amie points out, the Thickets cage is in no way suitable for a group of degus. The cage dimensions and the floor space fall awfully short of the recommended minimum for even two degus. There are a few suitable choices on the market, one of them being the X-trail cage/Critter Nation cage. As was also suggested, you may want to look into the option of building your own cage...one that could comfortably house your degu girls. It is sad to see many new owners are being duped into buying this cage, being told they are suitable for degus and chinchillas. Mandi, it is very important you read up on suitable degu housing and recommended cage dimensions. You will find a lot of useful and practical information in the Cage Section of the forum. |

I have a stack of three of these cages and used to use this as a stand. But any low coffee table would do the trick if you need a stand for it. Kat PS I didn't pay that price for the table just to put a cage on. I got it from a charity shop for £3. |
