I adopted two sisters from the SPCA a couple of months back. Long story short, the SPCA were absolute idiots and one died from malnutrition or something two days later. I still have the other sister though and she seems mostly healthy. However, I was watching her drink today and I think her teeth seem pretty long. And thinking about it, I've never seen her chew anything at all. She eats just fine, at first she was a bit iffy with her food and taking it and what not but now she takes it happily and loves the food that my other Degu's get. I tried checking my others teeth but none of them would let me get a good look. I know I probably could when another is drinking, but I'd rather ask here first because knowing my look none of them will want a drink for a few hours. So anyway, how big is too big for teeth? Does anyone have any pictures or just a good description? Please and thank you

For the incisors, they should be able to overlap each other, top over bottoms. When they do this, and you are looking at the bottom side of her muzzle and teeth, you will see the upper teeth, but very little of the lower teeth. If you are seeing a far exposure of the lower teeth behind the uppers, I would think they are too long. If they actually meet and rest together, effectively holding her jaws open, they are way too long. The molars at the back require some sedation to be properly seen however, so you would need your vet to do this.
