Is hot glue or very stong non-toxic glue safe to use instead of screws and nails ..etc when building a cage? Because if they chew through the wood and get to a nail or screw then that is certainly gonna hurt them. Just asking for when i make a new cage

I used yellow wood glue (non-toxic) and screws. The screws you choose should only be long enough to penetrate fully through the top surface and half to three quarters through the second piece. That way you don't create an uneven surface that a degu can get his teeth into, and you have ensuring a tight grip between the wood pieces. The combination of glue and screws makes your construction much stronger and more stable, which is highly desireable. You don't want things falling apart and landing on your animals inside! If they should manage to chew into a screw, they will most likely break a tooth, or two, but these grow so quickly that it will very soon be back to full length again.

Put this under your other post before I saw this one:
I can't give you the sources I found it on, but when previously looking up hot glue for a hamster project, I came across enough information indicating it is probably toxic that I decided no way. Remember also reading fumes are toxic (to people even if they get enough). So unless you or someone else can verify that a hot glue is known to be safe, I'd probably stay away.
