Hallo everyone.
I joined this forum as it looks to be quite inviting & even though we have lived with our goos for 4 months now, we're aware there is still lots more to learn & this forum along with the degutopia website look ideal for cross referencing, sharing & talking about all things goo.
My partner & I have just relocated to Brighton & it was a long journey admittedly, but the goos (& the rats) travelled well & they seemed to have settled already within our first week!
We adopted our goos from p@h 4 months ago & even though they had no previous handling, 3 out of 4 are already really keen to come out for a run around our shoulders when we enter the room. Their pecking order is already decided & we can tell them all apart now.
Sean is in charge, always first at the cage door, very cheeky but lovely, was the first to decide we weren't a threat & loves his hay.
Roger is second in command, very vocal, food hogger but is lovely, even when he's being a grump. (Which admittedly is all the time if he doesn't get his own way lol).
George was extremely timid at first, spent the first month continously reversing up right into a corner when we'd enter a room & alarm calling but after 2 months of sitting near the cage & ignoring him (so he got used to me in his own time) he decided one day to sit on my hands & is now equally as eager to come out like Sean & Roger.
Daniel is still very much work in progress, I have received 2 bites from him so far after picking him up during his escape acts. Still timid, but will take treats from my hand occasionally. Can tell he is lovely deep down, just I think he is the runt of the litter. (Not that its a bad thing! One of my fave rats was the runt of his bro's).
Here's a piccy;
Back left Daniel, back right Roger, front right Sean & front left George.
TTFN.
