Thanks for posting your experiences, scoobos. I right now have a cage (it's a big four-storey cage) with five males in it. Sean, the father is probably 2 years old, but Roku is 3 months and the other three (Makoto, Yuu and Chuugi) are about 2 months old so I realize I should be prepared for similar fighting to occur with my guys in the next half a year or so.
I will certainly refer to your posts when I need to deal with their testosterone-fueled issues. Your posts are much appreciated.

Thanks for all your kind comments. Ive just hand fed all of them in the palm of my hand for the first time since the first vet visit.
Ive had to manhandle them (for the vet to inspect) and was worried about their famous grudges.
I think pablo is actually tamer than he was before, he chose to sit in my hand for an extra couple of mins despite their being no more treats! (2 mins is hours in pablo sit still time)
Ill keep an eye on them and give an all clear next week , (migs still a little swollen) but yep i hope some people gain from this thread.
Final tip from me is ensure you have contact either with the breeder or a vet that REALLY knows goos. I think ive wasted a couple of hundred pounds goin to vets that have degus on their brochure, but said "i dont see many of these" or "and they are solitary animals!" on consultation. I found a great vet, but its no fun doing that filled with emotion and desperation.
Anyway its feeding time an for the first time in weeks and Ii expect to see empty bowls In a rush! Ill sort my typos out when i get my computer running again !

I'm really pleased things have worked out, mainly due to your dogged determination to do all you could, from the sounds of it! I really don't envy you your experience, although as DC says, I'm sure it will stand you in good stead and you'll be a more confident goo keeper for it. Wishing you some fun and happy times with your goos!

A final update on these 3 (I hope) - GREAT news After all being neutered and rehoused together for a few weeks now, we have harmony in the cage and they all got through the op without complications. (and 3 nests, although they mostly share the same one) This may sound strange, but the fighting is still going on and I'm glad about this. It has reassured me a little that they haven't been "changed or tranquilised" too much by the op - its just taken the edge off. The difference is that they now seem to stop before it gets silly , but thankfully I'm 100% confident that Pablo and Jose's personalities are no different other than reduced rage.. Miguel is slightly different, but I think this is more confusion that he's no longer the boss rather than anything else. It puzzles me too because he's by far the strongest. My final observation is it is amazing how quickly these creatures heal - Miguel had a fractured shoulder, which is no longer imparing his movement after just a month hes moving freely and bounding about happily on it. Jose probably had the worst injury of his bottom eyelid being severed so that it no longer joined and he couldnt close his eye anymore. The vet put him under and tried to "glue" it back together but it snapped after a week. thankfully it appears to be actually reforming! amazing. His missing finger has kind of grown back, but without a nail so far. Pablo's lost facial skin has all grown back, and the furs growing back slowly too. Despite being neutuered they still get over excited from time to time, but its not driving them to murder. Thanks again to all who contributed during the dark days, I'm really thankful for all the advice, support and well wishing!
