Oh dear, poor Manny. Just boil some water and let it cool down before using some cotton wool to wipe it with. Normally I would advise saline water (boiling water with rock salt in it before letting it cool down) as it's a natural antiseptic. However I'm not too sure whether it's a good idea to use it across the eye area. Maybe somebody else can answer this.
After that just make sure to keep it clean and keep an eye on it for any infection as normal.

One of my baby rats had a very bad gash on her back caused by one of the older females. I simply cleaned it with saline solution and kept a good eye on it. It should scab up pretty quickly. In the area that it's in (the cut is just above the eye), I would use a mild solution. And the poor little guy, It looks painful! I have the same cage as you. I have two double versions of it though. Yours is the black one with one door and it measures around 80cmL - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LIBERTA-ABODE-RAT-FERRET-CHINCHILLA-DEGU-CAGE-/260883238976?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item3cbdda5040 This one? You're right in your previous posts that it's too small two split down the middle. It's actually too small for even two degus long term. I *think* if you were to invest in a larger cage, some of the fighting *might* actually calm down.

yeah thats the one, ive made it slightly larger by attatching a small bird cage to the top as a temp measure but im gonna have to get the xtrail i think, also the plastic base of the abode is pointless, am i right in thinking the xtrail is all metal?

I'm not sure. I think people have made wooden bases for it after perchasing it, so I couldn't tell you. The double version of the cage you have (my cage) also has a plastic base, however.... you know the mesh that it rest on at the bottom of the cage? What I did, was completely remove the plastic base and lifted that mesh up and then wired it up so that there wasn't a gap where the plastic base should have been. I don't think I'm explaining that very well, but it worked for me without spending any extra money! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LIBERTA-TOWER-RAT-FERRET-CHINCHILLA-DEGU-CAGE-/260883244209?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Small_Animals&hash=item3cbdda64b1I think it's quite a bit cheaper than te xtrail too.

yeah its cheaper but its not quite as sexy as the xtrail, also the xtrail is already split in 2 so it'll be easier to use for reintroduction, i think people have made wooden trays because the ones the xtrail already comes with are shallow but i can put up with a little sweeping until i can afford some splash guards for it. I got my grandads friend to make a metal replacement base for the abode but the pleb made it out of thin aluminium and they started nibbling that too!

LOL - love the use of the term 'pleb'! Yeah, it's not quite a sexy as the Xtrail, I agree. It does the job though

The xtrail has metal base and levels. The wooden trays are to prevent them throwing their bedding around but are not strictly necessary (see mel's post earlier today). I agree that your current cage is too small and that this may contribute to the problems.
I have read through your earlier posts; am I right that no particular pairing works completely in harmony at the moment? If so you may have to do a 1 + 1 + 1 introduction. For the moment I would try to keep as much peace as possible until you have the right cage setup to address the introductions.

Sorry, I must have got it wrong somewhere. Good that Bernard and Manny are ok together. I hope that all will work out when you have the xtrail.
