Hi, I was handling casper and he was on my shoulder, sometimes he likes to slide down my back and I normally catch him before he get's all the way down. But today he managed to jump past my hand and landed on the Floor, first time this has happened to him.
He looked quite stunned, so when I picked him up, he just sat snug in my hand for like five minutes not moving, I mean he was looking around but He seemed quit content just to sit there. After a while I put him back in his cage. He started eating some food, but he doesn't seem his high energy springy self, he seems to be moving slowly around, he hasn't got a limp or anything, he just seems more carefull. I'm hoping he hasn't broken anything and the only reason he's acting differently is because he's still in shock or so I hope. It's only been 10 minutes so i'll keep an eye on him, Obviously If I suspect he's broken anything I'll take him to the vet but at the moment, It looks like shock from the fall. anyone got any advice, he's sitting very still on the top ledge lying down.
ok maybe I was overacting, just seen casper spring up and chase victor around the cage for the nut shell victor has in his mouth. haha. like Tom and Jerry. I'll watch out for him though, but that's a good sign I think.

i really dont know what to say or suggest, i would probably go along with your thoughts and say he is a little shocked from the fall? all i can suggest is maybe keeping him warm? maybe put the heating on or something, i believe when your body goes into any sort of shock it kind of loses heat? although im not perfectly sure keep a close eye on him, and maybe tone down any noise? im sure somebody will be able to advice better real soon?!

We had the exact same problem with one of our girls nosey. she decided to escape one night from her cage and fell about 5 ft. she was exactly the same. she went all quiet and hardly moved for a few days. she was also holding her paw up for a bit so that made us think she had hurt herself. we kept an eye on her and gave her cuddles and loads of attention then she just sparked into life again. it's just the shock usually but keep an eye and try not to worry.

I too think he is going to be just fine, but also remember that shock in and of itself can be dangerous, so keep the house kind of quiet and maybe don't introduce anything strange or new over the next couple of days.

ok thanks for the advice, yeah it's quite quiet so. He's snuggling up to Victor at the moment sleeping. I think he's got, I hate when they fall on the floor, only happens every so often but gives me a shock when that happens, normally I handle them not to far of the ground but I often walk to the fridge with them on my shoulders, they like to see what I have in the fridge, like som Basil.
