Just curious.. I was trying to teach myself how to crochet the other day.. And I made this little crochet ball.. I was wondering if degus can play with something like this. I know my boys like to drag stuff around the cage (well moose likes to drag stuff... Rocket just likes to destroy everything around him ). I was wondering if this could be degu safe or just dangerous for them. I don't know if they would try to eat it or not. Any advice would be appreciated!

I would avoid it myself. The strands of wool and thread would concern me that they might get caught on their claws or teeth, or may in some manner unravel it sufficiently that they could become entangled. Becoming tangled could then lead to a suffocation or to the cutting off of circulation in limbs, tail, neck, or abdomine which would cause either an amputation or death. Too many potentials for injury in my mind.

Impressive crochet! Since you are so good with your hands, you could probably make some nice stuff with sisal rope. I made a cargo net with fishing net knots, sorry I can't find my link to the instructions, I'm sure with some imagination there are other things you could make too.
