I can imagine them escaping it quite easy and being able to climb out of it.
It isn't really that big though looking at the pictures with the rabbits in it.

The gaps seem quite big. I couldn't spot the width of the gaps mentioned anywhere? If you get it you'd need some smaller mesh to wrap around it.
With these pens you'd need to keep an eye on them.
Have you considered making one with wood?

I did think about making one with wood, but it wouldn't be collapsible and I don't think we'd have anywhere to put it.
Thanks for the links and advice, though I think we might be doing something a bit different - my fiance suggested I get a large sheet of tarpaulin and place it on our bed, then hook it onto things to create a sort of wall, then put the degus in there with toys or whatever, or sit in there ourselves with them. How does that sound?
If that's ok, does anyone know somewhere better than Ebay to get tarpaulin from? I wouldn't know where to get it :/
