Hi guys, last week I was on holidays in Ticino, Southern Switzerland (near Italy). The weather was really good, sunshine and warm temperature (except on weekend). I had a flat on two floors in an old villa. Here are some photos from the first day. The countryside of Brissago, where I lived... but my flat wasn't at the lakeshore: Beautyful was the mix of the lake, the waves and the sun reflecting on the water surface: Acorn harvest... well, we left them on place, but it was awesome this huge amount of acorns: Typical view on the lake... palms, houses and a delightful view: Palms in the dusk: That was only a glimpse of the photos I made. I hope, I find the time, that I can select and publish a set of additional photos next week.

How very beautiful indeed!! So lovely to see trees that still have leaves, and green leaves at that!! I guess we have "some" that are still leafy . . . but probably 60 % are bare already. Thank you for sharing your pictures with us, Davx!

Hi guys, I have uploaded my pics... it was hard work and I had a lot of other stuff, so it took time. I had to sort out several hundert photos, from around 800 photos finally I choiced around 80 pieces. Here is the first part. Photos from Brissago and the lakeside of the Lago Maggiore: www.flickr.com/photos/degupedia/sets/72157628237809439/Further photos from Ascona and the "Falconeria" in Locarno as well as the photos from Cannobio (Italy) are in preparation.

Let me explain some of the Brissago photos: The first two are pine fruits, a pinecone and a opened "nut". I made many photos containing water, the lake and the sunlight. It was fascinating the wind, the water and the sunlight reflecting in the curly water surface. The acorn photo I already published at the first time, but in another photo there is a forest, and the ground is covered with chestnuts (the edible ones). It was obvious how big the amount of acorns and chestnuts was. Evereywhere I found this trees, the ground was covered with this fruits/nuts. The "night" photos I made in Brissago. I tried out to catch this magic moment and to test my camera, how good it works at night. At the last picture there is a scorpion. This graceful creature shared the bathroom with me! Finally I continue... photos from Ascona and the falconery (Falconeria) in Locarno: www.flickr.com/photos/degupedia/sets/72157628238288789/detail/

Davx!! Such beautiful photos!! I really love the evening shots you took, and my favorite is the one with the full moon reflected on the water. I love that short bit of time in the evening when twilight is nearly gone, full night approaches, and the sky takes on this velvety purple hue . . . it's magical. That photo, I felt as if I were seeing it alive, not flat and distant. Beautiful!! There are others that are favorites as well, the lake with the full sun in the upper right hand corner. I really enjoy the way the sun beams glow out into the rest of the photo. The cobblestone alley with the gorgeous old archway mid scene. The cacti growing in pots on top of the weather old barrel, such an interesting blend of tone on tone along with the vibrant green of the cacti. The chestnuts in full spiney glory on the path through the woods. All so interesting and so full of the character of the area!! Very beautiful!!!
