ok, its now been 5 days since willow gave birth. last night i gave in to temptation and let chocs have a little visit with willow and the babies but after about 10 mins i separated them again (i guess i just had a gut feeling that this was for the best). anyway, i decided it would be best to wait until today until he can go back in properly, especially as its day 5! so.. i have just been sitting in the frontroom for over an hour watching chocs, willow and the babies running around but im not totally sure if its for the best? one reason is that the babies all wanted to suckle mum and she wasnt having any of it so they were all squeaking and chasing her, they looked a little unsettled but im not sure if thats normal and im just over reacting but i guess the main reason for me feeling like this is because chocs kept trying to hump willow now im sure im correct in thinking that 5 days is safe but.............what if his humps are successful??? can willow get pregnant again at this stage??? obviously, i again decided it would be best to separate them and wait until i get some advice, please do help me, im so confused at the moment, i want to do the best but, oh i dont know..please help me

I have zero experience with goos, pregnancy, breeding etc...
But as I understand it you should now be fine to put Chocs back in with his girly and babies. I imagine it may be a little unsettled for a few hours but I would hope they would all calm down soon enough. With regards to the humping, I think you should be fine as she is now past the fertile period, maybe Chocs is just a bit over excited, we know what these boy goos can be like!
Sorry I've not really been much help, hopefully someone else will be able to give a bit more guidance...

Hi Nuttz, not sure i'll be much help either.. I've been surfing through the web as i will be in the same boat probably within the next week, most pages say up to 5 days after that it's safe.. I can only assume it's a boy thing.. any chance he can get.. as my wee pumpkin is fit to burst and pipsqueak is still constantly trying to hump her, though she does now give him a proper telling off... sorry i'm no help x

She shouldn't be fertile again till 21st day (approximately) after birth. I think u should give it another try and put him back. Pups will try to suckle mum (and dad too actually) all the time but mum will feed them only about every 2 hours. My goo mum was Feed&Go kind of mum, and dad took care of grooming and keeping them warm. I guess they need some time to settle. With dad back in and all the babies around. I don't really have proper advice, just what I saw with my babies. And dad is definitelly helpfull to mum.
