Dorothy was relaxing earlier and I was watching the babies wiggling and moving - one baby paused while poking out on her side - it was fascinating to watch The goo behind her is Twinkle - her daughter born in July.

Poor Dorothy! She must be getting so uncomfortable. For her babies to be that easily visible she must be very near her time. Makes me think of my sister when she was expecting their twins. She lay down on her back one day and said, "What this . . ." then pulled up her shirt so that I could watch her belly. At first nothing happened, and then suddenly her tummy started to ripple and bulge and move all about, it was like watching the surface of a disturbed pool, or . . . an alien movie where an alien is just about to burst out of some unsuspecting humans stomach. It was SO COOL!! Can't imagine what having multiple little creatures all poking and pushing must feel like. Dorothy will be SO glad to be delivered of them!!

I echo DC..poor Dorothy. But well done you for getting such an unusual photo. Great timing!
@dc You are right about the alien reference. I liked to feel my babies kicking but when they started to stick out like that is wasn't as nice. It felt and looked really odd.
When is Dorothy due? Very soon?

When is Dorothy due? Very soon? Kat X I was going to say, she's due any day in the next week - today is day 86, but she delivered them last night I was expecting a bigger litter this time because she'd gained so much weight but at the moment (with just a quick peek into the nest) I can see three which is what she had last time. Poor girl has been pregnant for the best part of 6 months as this litter were conceived in the PP oestrus before we knew we had pups and therefore a boy! The other girls are all in a state of excitement and everyone got a celebratory sunflower seed this morning.

Congratulations. I love the celebratory sunflower seed idea. I suppose you can't really give degus a cigar.
