How many adult degus can comfortably be caged in a Midwest Critter Nation double unit?
Dimensions: approx. 36 in x 24 in. x 63 in (high) with four levels – two large base levels (approx. 36x24 in. each) and two half-sized shelf levels (approx. 24x18in) each.

Our cage calculator in development will say four.
How are the babies doing?

The babies are doing fine. (Thanks for asking. ) There were six of them originally but one passed away on day four. One of the remaining five is a little runty but all are energetic and curious. They will be two weeks old tomorrow. Now I'm trying to figure out how many cages I will need (I want to keep all of the pups plus the four adults = 9 degus total). I've already bought and set up a second CritterNation double. I'm hoping two cages will suffice but if I have to get a third I will.

The four refers to adult degus. I wouldn't see a problem to go above that for a few months if you get uneven numbers of males and females.
Great to hear that all the others have made it!!
