Last night just before I went out for cocktails with my friends the degus were running around the living room and Cleo got upstairs and I saw her in the bathroom but before I got to her she jumped into a little hole I didn't even know existed in there My boyfriend cut in half and pulled up some floorboard in the bathroom and a tile off the wall - we could see her at one point but she wouldn't/couldn't jump up to get out. We haven't seen her since but we could hear her under the bedroom and so my boyfriend pulled up the carpet in the bedroom and one of the floorboards. We still can't see her. I think I heard her a bit this morning. He also pulled off the boards in the kitchen under the cupboard as well but she isn't there. We have all the holes 'open' and have put boxes/old hamster cage with some hay and food in. What else can I do? Daisy is not very happy and keeps stamping her feet at us cos we've taken her friend away I was thinking of food I could put there that may smell, hot porridge maybe? Advice welcome - thank you x PS Sorry I put this in two places I am desperate for help and unsure which was the best place x

No problem with double placement. I am feeling your anxiety, and am so sorry that things have taken this shocking turn of events. It is so terrifying when they find that one spot (known or unknown) that they can get through, and there is no way to get them back. Or else they are unwilling to return when they are called.
What you have done is really all that you can do for the time being. If you live in a multi-home building, you need to get in touch with your neighbors to let them know what has happened so that they can keep and ear out for her and also so that they WON'T take drastic action should she suddenly appear in their home. Now, just keep the food, treats, water available, and keep an eye and ear out for her.
Please let us know how it is going for you!!!
