So I'm hoping someone can help me answer this. Daisy just banged her tail against a carpet tube as she missed her footing and fell a very short distance (2 inches tops). It made a loud 'thwack' noise as it happened but she landed on all fours and didn't seem worried. I checked her tail over and she now has a dark, deep looking line underneath her tail about 1/2 cm from the base. To me it looks like a break in the skin of the tail, theres no blood, my question is would that heal? I know about de-gloving and I know should either of them ever lose a tail they'll cope just fine but I'm just curious as to whether the tail does heal small injuries like this or a bite for example.

Yes, it will heal. I pinched Reeps tail in the cage door once, and it left a bit of a ring shaped dent around his tail. It was tender for a few days, but the only evidence that he kept with him until he died was a slight loss of hair in that area.

Thanks Dc! :-) That's good to know, I found loads on tail injuries but nothing on the small stuff. Poor daisy goo!
