I thought I would ask a few questions on this thread about building my cage if thats ok. I'm not sure if I should build the main body of the cage out of MDF or Plywood. The reason i'm asking is I would like to be able to take the cage apart if possible so i'm looking at building a glueless cage if possible. My cage dimentions will be 200cm width, 100cm Height and 60cm Depth....
Now MDF seems hard to be able to connect together with screws without destroying it everytime I take it down. Not that I plan on taking it down a lot but I live in rented accomadation and moving things down stairwells can be a problem, I'm yet to find a place I like so have moved twice in a year so i'm thinking a huge cage glued together would be hard for me...
So i'm thinking would Plywood 18mm be more stable when it comes to taking it down and putting it back together. would drilling the holes first be a good idea rather than screwing right it to stop breaking. The only glued bit I will have you see will be the runners for the glass doors. Just looking for ideas..
any help would be much appreciated...

I haven't built a cage and I'm sure that someone with more experience will be along soon but have you thought of using cross dowels? I ave used these for quite a few things. These will enable you to take the cage apart without ruining the wood. Kat x

Don't even bother looking for these at B&Q. I have just had a look for them on the website and what a rip off. Grr

Screwfix are great for these sorts of things, they sell Cross Dowels in a pack of 50 for only £2.55 - worth a look.
